100% CPU
I7-7700k at 4.20 ghz. 100% on all threads, a lot of the time. This never happened before. I've been a fan of Monster Hunter since the very first one, and now I can't play the game without shortening my CPU lifespan.

I get good performance regardless, but 100% CPU, no Capcom, just no...

Known issue. Capcom claims they're working on a proper fix after the last one fizzled.

you can try to use the crc bypasser too, althou use it at your own discretion

that and wait for capcom to actually fix their mistakes

"Without shortening my CPU lifespan..." really? Why even bother with buying a K version that can be overclocked if you're going to whine about the CPU lifespan. Unless it is faulty to begin with, it will last well to the point of being completely obsolete even with overclocking.

Either A) you're like the little old lady that drives 10 mph under the speed limit, to take an easy on the engine. Or B) You really don't know much about pc hardware. Either way, you need to relax.

And finally, don't buy the K version of a processor ever again. You don't know how to overclock it, worry about stupid things, and spent more money on it than you had to because you don't know what you bought.

You're right, I don't know much about PC hardware, but I do know it's a good CPU, and I haven't overclocked it because I never felt like I needed to, all my games run at desired quality/performance. One thing I do know, is hitting 100% for extended periods of time does decrease a CPU's lifespan. Anyway, Mr. Cho's advice did the trick, haven't hit 100% in 10 minutes, unlike before where it was every 30 seconds or so. Somehow.

I don't know how, but it worked, 10 minutes testing is all I needed, it went between 30 and 70% usage, unlike before, where it hit 100% way too often in the same 10 minutes, so thank you!

Point was, you need to relax. 100% CPU is like driving a car at 70 mph. The longer you go, faster you go, and over a long period of time will obviously wear and tear on it. But even so, you can run that thing at 100% load for years as long as the temperatures are fine, which they should be unless you got a faulty heat sink or cpu in the first place. So all you people worried your computer is going to somehow explode... need to chill the F out. They'll fix the cpu issue when they can, until then your cpu will be just fine.

Well that's reassuring, my temps never go above 60-65°c, that said, I still don't like the 100% usage, considering the game never hit that before, but thanks regardless.

uhmm uhmm uhmm, cant have a thread w/o a fanboy and/or a hater triggered :steamsalty:

sure must be healthy for your cpu to run for a good 4 hour session at 100% right?

I have same CPU and patch fixed the issue for me, mate.
I'd advise to try the following:
- check mhw folder permissions under steamapps\common
Directly add your user and full access there.
-delete (backup first) graphic_settings file , start the game and configure graphics from scratch.
-make sure you disable all settings with on/off toggles, enable them later one by one , after you get stable game performance. Capsule AO should be OFF at all times, especially! Use 32bit range as a Start too.
-check integrity in steam:local files
-add mhw folder and mhw executable to antivir/defender exclusion list
-stop steam and discord overlays

It should fix it for you. Else just delete the game (backup your save) and re- install from scratch, old installations don't really get upgraded clean somehow.
I think (keyword THINK) the anticheat gets crazy due to unexpected files, permissions or leftovers from old times
