Why can't I use DX12 with a 1080ti?
The option is greyed out in the menu. I can go in the config file to force it on but I shouldn't need to do that when I have plenty of other games running DX12 just fine.

Edit: A reddior came to my aid and provided a strange solution that has ultimately fixed the issue; check my compatibility settings for MHW and Steam. MHW checked out just fine, no compatibility settings were enabled. But turns out Steam, for some ungodly reason, was set to have Compatibility settings for Windows 8. Unchecked that, restarted Steam, and lo and behold the option is present in game and Afterburner confirms I'm running DX12 properly now. So cheers to you, /u/not_a_miscarriage, for solving this headache!

Windows10. I literally played Vermintide a couple hours ago and it had no problem enabling DX12 in game so this is clearly a Monster Hunter problem and I'm not sure what's causing it.

strange. might verify you files. to start. i actually did this and found one had downloaded corrupt. word of warning, could end up in another 40 gb download like mine did. but hopefully whatever the issue might be it'll resolve it.

You could try enabling it in the .ini file directly.

I'm aware, this is my current workaround. I'm just curious why the in game option specifically is disabled.

Some said that you need atleast 4gb on your video card to enable it.

1080ti is way beyond 4gb. Might have something to do in the revision of DX12 as there are several

Oh sorry about that. Just try to turn it on the config files.

1080ti here, I am using dx12 so it's definitely possible. Good luck figuring it out.

Hello,
It could be a good idea to redownload and reinstall the Micrososft Directx distribution.
But first, you can try to type "dxdiag" in a "Run" windows and see if you are well "version Directx = Directx 12"
As you say, you have already other game in diectx 12 so it s maybe an other bug related to Iceborne itself.

Try updatng your DirectX and Video drivers to the latest.

1) Make sure you're using the latest version of Windows 10, the latest is v1909.

2) Make sure you're using the latest video drivers. During installation perform an Advanced > Clean install for maximum stability.
