Crash on Startup?
My game crashes the moment I try to launch it (window pops up, stays black, then I get crash notification) and I don't seem to be able to fix it myself. I was able to play it in December just fine, but I have since then upgraded from Win7 to Win10. I believe this might be at fault.

Here are some things I've tried:
- Reinstalling the game
- Updating my graphics drivers (GTX1060)
- Remove any and all FAR (Nier Mod) references on my PC. (including DInput8.dll)
- Run as administrator
- Change the Power Mode of my desktop to Ultimate (recommended by reddit post)

Any other suggestions as to what could solve this?

file path is in pic
just remove the highlighted files

and maybe also the other .dll files too (verify cache after)

Weird, i dont have any of those files
its probably your antivirus, same as many others recently
both avast and webroot cause issues and right now the solution is to completely uninstall them

I finally found a solution that worked for me. Please let me know if this works for you.

First: Using WebRoot I white-listed the folder containing MHW, the folder containing steam.exe, the folder c:\users\{username}\AppData\Local\Steam\*.*
Next: I opened Windows Security --> App & Browser Control --> Click the tab Program Settings then click "Add program to customize" . after adding the Monster Hunter World.exe, scroll down the list of options it gives you to DEP (Data Execution Prevention and click Override System Settings. Apply the setting and you should be all set to go.

I'm also having the no crash message issue, where the game closes before the capcom logo. No mods but I have webroot. Pasta's fix did not work unfortunately, but weirdly if I boot the game up within a few minutes of restarting my pc it works fine until I close it.

It works!

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!

You found the cure!

Just some minor additions to your steps.

To white-list the whole folder, Advanced Whitelist must be used.

After App & Browser Control, go to Exploit protection settings. There will be a tab called Program settings.

Edit: I spoke too soon. It seems it has the same effect as Uninstalling then Installing back Webroot. It lets me run it once and the issue is back again.

Well, good find in any case.
