both avast and webroot cause issues and right now the solution is to completely uninstall them
Yeah i had the issue a while back, I messed with some stuff and got it to say, payment sumt sumt, try agian in 24 hours. And then it worked after that 24 hours. It was on another thread, but i cant find that one
First: Using WebRoot I white-listed the folder containing MHW, the folder containing steam.exe, the folder c:\users\{username}\AppData\Local\Steam\*.*
Next: I opened Windows Security --> App & Browser Control --> Click the tab Program Settings then click "Add program to customize" . after adding the Monster Hunter World.exe, scroll down the list of options it gives you to DEP (Data Execution Prevention and click Override System Settings. Apply the setting and you should be all set to go.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!
You found the cure!
Just some minor additions to your steps.
To white-list the whole folder, Advanced Whitelist must be used.
After App & Browser Control, go to Exploit protection settings. There will be a tab called Program settings.
Edit: I spoke too soon. It seems it has the same effect as Uninstalling then Installing back Webroot. It lets me run it once and the issue is back again.
Well, good find in any case.
I'm sorry it didn't fully work for you. 😭
Dang Capcom. I hope they do something about this soon.
Thanks man. Worked for me on Windows 11.
