But when trying to more mobile, or faster weapon types, I found the Mouse and Keyboard lacking, so I'm trying my second play through with my pad. Camera is worse of course, but I feel like my combat controls are a bit better.
KB+mouse for ranged. Controller for melee.
Holding buttons and pressing other buttons to activate things is just bonkers on a keyboard. We have a dozen buttons within reach of one hand and a few more on the mouse.
You can't separate some of these to do one key press because some functions are multiple binds depending on what key is held. Some weapons are worse than others.
With a free look mouse based camera you should be able to tap 1 button for slinger, another for claw without entering some aim mode since we're always in aim mode.
