I just did tempered monsters in GL. Might not be the fastest but gaining materials for augments is like killing two birds with one stone.

Grinding lands if there is no event MR quests.
With your MR hunting Elder in the GL is the way to level up, once you're 100 it will be Tempered Elder but you're clearly in the harder part of leveling up rn. So yeah good luck ^^'

Seems like Capcom released a whole bunch of event quests this time around with the sole purpose of granting bonus HR/MR XP, so I'd assume those are your best bet for rapidly gaining MR.

One of them in particular, "We Three Kings" or something, a Kirin, Kushala Daora and Teostra all in one go in the Special Arena...with bonus HR/MR experience on top of it - three Elder Dragons with bonus XP? I imagine that's not too shabby, if you can manage it.

Otherwise, just kill Tempered stuff, either via Investigations or inside the Guiding Lands. It doesn't seem like MR starts becoming slow to level until you're around MR 300, so no matter what you do you should be seeing good chunks of the stuff, right?

Yup. At this point you should be killing EDs in under 10 minutes unless you had a low HR when IB dropped. I'd recommend locking desert and volcanic at 7 and then not even worrying about lures. You should be knee-deep in teos, lunas, tempered rajangs and gold raths every time you pop in.

Event quests are still a thing outside of Festivals. IIRC right now there's a Yian Garuga quest and Brute Tigrex quest for bonus HR/MR

There is barely anything BUT MR boosting events up currently.
