Do you mean a save you have on an illegal copy of the game you were playing elsewhere? So long as you've bought Monster Hunter World nice and legally (which it looks like you have) there should be no issues here, consider the previous stuff you playing a "demo" of sorts.
If you mean just a generic save file you've cheated on or edited using third party tools, yeah no one cares, go nuts. People have been swapping out "master files" that have 100% of the base game content done anyway just to play Iceborne, so I'm assuming it's easy enough to do, and likely nigh undetectable too.
Unless you spent 10 hours straight in the same expedition?
If that was the case then we would have all lost our saves when the encryption changed
There’s no reason a save from a past version wouldn’t work
Wasn't meant literally, I.E you're off to the gulag tier, etc.
There's also no ban system in place so do what you want though obviously blatant cheats that ruin someone else's game experience is a big nono etiquette-wise.
