Carting in guiding lands
Alright so when you die in GL, it says the rewards are reduced yeah?

Does that refer to rewards for the monsters you can fight currently on the map?
Does that refer to rewards you have already unlocked by a previous fight but haven't turned in at camp?
Does that refer to rewards in shinies dropping less frequently for the duration of the fight?
Does that refer to rewards being reduced for the rest of that guiding lands being open until you actually leave?

It doesn't exactly explain what that means because the GL has a bunch of variables.

It doesn't affect shinies that's for sure. When I go on a carting spree because I keep going in with 100 HP, my rewards still look okay. Sometimes I only got a couple of parts, but remember that breaking parts, fighting tempereds et.c all provide their own additional rewards. I really don't know how exactly you are penalized for dying other than not getting some about to time out shinies.

for reward of the monster you defetead that not yet reported

I'm just going to assume carting makes your chances for nice rewards to go down, rather than the amount you get. Cart a whole bunch of times and you're going to be given a handful of shards from those twenty Lunastras you killed. Non Guiding Lands materials, I mean. I.E dying to a Gold Rathian 10 times probably will impede your chances of getting any lucky Surspikes, etc.

That's probably not how it works but it basically doesn't matter anyway. Just assume that it effects your bonus rewards you get from reporting in between lures, and then realise that your bonus rewards suck anyway even if you don't cart, etc.

Like Remi said, the main draw of the Grinding Lands are monster drops, which are consistent regardless to you dying 0 times or 100 times, etc.

Carting in GL does not really do much, Cart away all you want ^^
They did kinda ♥♥♥♥ up GL with that, there is very little punishment for carting in general "unless the hunt have a fail state" in this game and even less in GL.

Affects rewards from reporting.

I don't get the rewards reduced message when I do the faint 2x suicide for Fortify 2x, since I haven't attacked a monster.

Just affects the reward screen, and since that screen barely has anything worth notice in it but normal materials (which you shouldn't care about in GL), basically carting means nothing.

I'd just worry shinies you didn't pick up are going to be gone. Plus a waste of time and items.

Just equip Fortitude and cart yourself with bombs 2 times before
you start for the 50 minutes long buffs

Or you cart midbattle and return stronger then before ^^
Compared to normal quests where you can fail a quest for use up all carts, the GL penaltys arent that hard, you are mainly there for the shiny drops.

Seems like the decorations get worse. I've never gotten a level 4 from a cart.

Some of the nicer rewards from zone-specific monsters, like Scarred Garuga Cortex or Rajang Goldpelts, I found you mostly get from that endscreen, and pretty much never form shinies. It still boils down to RNG, but in those specific cases you're sorta stacking the odds against you. Other than that you'll barely notice a difference, so I'd say hunt and cart as much as you'd like, I'd rather go after two of the same monsters I need in a row than stress over playing super safe a single hunt and keep my finger crossed in was worth it in the end.

it may have something to do with the decorations rewarded for the hunt but i havent tested that at all, it seems like in guiding lands when fighting tempered monsters i usually only get rarity 6-7-8 gems instead of the 10-11 rearity ones. probably because I have carted during the fight, just a theory of mine.

i think the diffrent is quality of decoration and how much of it, the material you get almost no diffrent at all.

If you cart just kill/capture the monster and turn in the investigation. You'll get full rewards for the next monster unless you cart again. The Guiding Lands are pretty bad for farming crafting materials anyway so I wouldn't bother.
