How to change game language (to english)?

So I got the game + iceborne and after firing it up it's start in chinese? now I'm (cluelessly) trying to figure out how to play the damn thing. This is the first time such a thing is happening to me on steam here.

That's a really weird response. It's not like it's supposed to start with Japanese text, and this is the first time I've heard of anyone having it happen.

Try searching google for English to Japanese translations for "options" and "language", compare with what you see on the main title screen, and hopefully you can figure it out from there.

From the main title screen:

-Fourth choice from the top is the "Options" menu.
-Fourth choice again from the top is the "Language" menu
-First textbox is the UI language.

Yeah pardon the phrasing, was looking forward to this for some time and now finally was frustrating to encounter this. The game started up in simplified chinese for some reason (not japanese) and spent the my first whole time navigating the menus frustratingly. It's great the game has so many options, but well in my position (then) LOL
Wish i found Goilveig's response first after searching all over and finally ranting here, might help some odd one else later (might want to add the options menu is the third one when you launch the game the first time too haha)
