How is Ruiner Nergigante easy?
I hear people on this forum saying it is easier than tempered or just regular nergs from the base game. Yet I still see even some of the best players cart to him, some of his moves come out so fast that you require incredible reflexes to avoid, and they do so much damage as well like the sideway swipe into spike combo or the almost instant charging attack. I can't imagine what the tempered one will do if the regular one is already hitting this hard.

Ruiner version might have longer range (distance) in terms of his attack, but he get exhausted pretty quickly. Also, his flying spikes are in the shape of a fan to the front and side, as long as you run to his back, you avoid his attack completely.

In general, if you use a less mobile weapon, you might find him more difficult. But for weapons like GreatSword (played in old school way), LS, SnS, CB, DB, he's actually pretty easy.

In fact, I've even pull out my hammer on him and found a couple of opening to smack off his horn. (Friend of mine needs his horn for weapon. What other weapons is better than Hammer on this one?)
Switch axe seems to rip body parts off pretty quick when stacked with part breaker. its pretty crazy.

AT Nerg was crazy. You needed high damage, plus good armor. Killing it took a long time, you couldn't rely on SOS (too risky) so solo was the only way. Hard hits, quick, lethal jump drops..the list goes on. Cutting your teeth on AT Nerg means Ruiner Nerg's moveset isn't unfamiliar, which makes the Ruiner Nerg fight not as tense as AT Nerg. That's why it's easy.

Ruiner shares literally nothing with AT Nerg and all his new moves are unique. You could argue that AT Nerg forces you to react quickly making Ruiner easier than if you hadn't done AT Nerg, but the two aren't directly comparable moveset-wise.

Balanced ruiner and he doesn't have this slam dunk move/pepega slam on his AT counterpart

According to Monster Hunter players there are no difficult monsters, even Extreme Behemoth.

leshen and ancient leshen especially are a pain in the butt. unless you get a solid group then its like 5 mins and its dead with MR weapons.

He's just more fair than AT Nergi that was utter BS to deal with.

The new moves aren't onehitkills, he takes pauses to catch his breath after he gets really aggro. AT Nergi the fast af swipes and the pepega slam were not only really fast to come out, but also basically killed you immediately. Basic balance thing should be that a very fast attack =/= a lot of damage. And the stupid slam could be spammed over and over, sometimes off the end of other moves, that was just random threat at any point.

Also didn't AT Nergi get a speed/damage boost every time he roared, and it kept stacking up? So the longer the fight continued, the more BS it got? I don't think Ruiner does this at all.

He can do a zero-frame windup move that deals 50% of your hp, if he does it twice in a row you're dead with no counterplay. If you stand at his hindlegs and he does any attack with his frontlegs, you still get hit. The fight is the worst fight so far, I'd do EX Dreadking with melee any day over fighting this dung pos that dies in 5 minutes, roar spams half of the time and instakills you at the end with no way to avoid it. It proves again that Nerg is the worst monster in the franchise, both design and gameplay wise. There is no fight, it's just him getting manhandled, then hitting one random instant attack that sets you up for a true combo. Then he just dies, it's pathetic how atrociously this monster is designed.

Temp runier is dangerous esp at the guiding land. He can do continuous jump smash that doesnt give u time to heal and that's what kill alot of hunters...

i fought Arch Tempered Nerigigante enough time while iceborne isn't released yet and i can say Ruiner Nerigigante doesn't hold the candle to AT Nerg

of course he has some moves that fast like the one where he turned 180 with swipe and such

but it is unlikely he would 1-2 shot you with max upgrades non augmented armor

but he doesn't had divebomb that guaranteed 1 shot you and PePe Slam (not yet gonna have to wait for Temepred Ruiner version of him)

I personally love nerigigante (and a lot of people do from what i've heard) since in base game he's such a fun fight he doesn't have elemental ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like lunastra or insane wind pressure like kushala

he's just pure brawl fight your reaction time/reflex are your friend

i havnt looked at console but methinks tempered ruiner will wreck face pretty good. otherwise, if they bring back ATs for G rank... yeah.......
I doubt it’ll change even with Tempered Ruiner Nerg, tempered monsters have the same movesets and HP they just hit harder which will be no issue since im running lance with Guard 5 and Guard-Up

considered yourself warned tempered ruiner nerigigante has quick slam move (i called it PePe Slam) from AT Nerg

Idk about other players but to me he was easy, I’ve had a harder time with AT Nergigante than Ruiner Nerg tbh

I agree with this. AT nerg was tough in HR.

Some monsters when tempered get new attack patterns, like Jang and Uragaan; Tempered Ruiner Nerg I believes gets AT's super slam spam

much easyer than AT nerg back in HR
tho we still don't have tempered ruiner
