Shadowcore Ore?
I’ve read the wiki and seen other posts, the wiki mentions you can obtain it in the guiding lands but where and how rare?

How rare is it from temp elder dragon investigations too?

No , you need to beat temper elder invest , and yes they are quite a rare drop , no guarantee to get it in the reward box , and it not even drop in those brozen / silver / gold box .

I got those in lv3 tempered investigations too. It's average rare but you can get up to 3 over a mission if you're lucky enough :cozyspaceengineersc:

Would any decorations or Armor set effects add extra rewards to the mission?

Nope, only set that gives extra rewards are festival sets which you equip to increase the rate drop of VIP tickets but thats about it

In my opinion, it is not worth it... You get plenty without using an armor set for extra rewards. Just spam lv3 tempered investigations to get some valuable jewels and in the meantime you'll get shadowcore ores too :lunar2019grinningpig:

There's Good Luck and Great Luck:
Great Luck: 3pc MR Kirin armour
Good Luck: 2pc Guildworks and(?)/or Guild Palace armour

In my experience that is the most difficult stuff to get so far. Not many people host these missions.

When hosting Kushala slaying investigation, had to kill it 3 times to get one shadowcore ore and that was with the Kirin set bonus great luck.

they are not really that rare tbh. pet your pig and use a voucher. got 3-4 in no time personally. they are only need for some charms anyway. you dont need that many of em. like 4-5 at most.

and to clarify something : they can ONLY drop from ELDER DRAGON tempered investigations. not t3 in generel. rajang/pickle/bagel all count as t3 tempered but they will give you phantomcore ores not shadowcore. the monster has to an elder dragon to get some of em in the first place. so no easy bagel farming for it unlike the decos where bagel is pretty much the best target from them all (excludeing vaal maybe)

Alrighty, thanks for the advice! :steamhappy:

It's not very rare. I've seen three at once from a T3 Investigation. Phantomcore ore is the same, although you can get that from quests involving Tempered monsters that aren't necessarily Tempered Investigations, otherwise your most reliable source is T2's.

Not rare, not at all. If you're specifically looking for that one single piece to upgrade your best buddy charm or whatever it's incredibly annoying though...but simply playing the game will end up with you having a large stock handy etc.

It's kinda rare, considering what you need to accomplish to even get to tempered elder dragon investigations. Doesn't get much more end game than this when you think about it. It's more end game than GL because you first need GL regions at 7 and kill tempered elder dragons before you even get any such investigations. And then it's not even a guaranteed drop.

Certainly this was the "last" material to get for me. Everything else I had sooner.

The last material I unlocked was the Research Ticket+ just like its High Rank version back in the base game. I didn't see one of those until I was about MR 140 or so, because I wasn't able to beat the Gold and Silver duo as soon as it unlocked at MR 125. I am aware you can get it early by joining "We Run This Town" though.

You do have to wait until you are MR 100 to get Shadowcore ore, true enough, which definitely adds to its rarity, but considering fighting Tempered Elder Dragons is what you've been working towards at that point I'd imagine as soon as you hit MR 100 you'd be doing them in your Guiding Lands and immediately farming their Investigations for decorations, etc.

Meh.

You'll be hungry for a lot of things in the end game. There's so many things you need, it's pretty overwhelming, but at least Phantomcore and Shadowcore Ore are universal among many items, not like needing a specific Tempered Elder Dragon material in the Guiding Lands or something.

Then you're quite lucky, or i was unlucky, back when i needed one i took me 5 hunts to get one.

Those materials drop en mass in GL as long as you find the right dragon just bash on it though. Faint as many times as you want, don't even have to kill it. Shadowcore Ore is tied to a quest with various faint limits. I've seen these fail a lot. Velkana is probably the best bet to avoid too many faints with randoms.
