okay am i mistaken about this HORRIBLE designed monster???

if he stand still - he damages you
if he moves - he damages you

his whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ body damages you no matter WHAT he does...

enrages on 1-2 hits, body parts cant be broken but gets invincible if you hit it to many times...

how the hell are you suppossed to kill this ridicously horrible designed piece of garbage?????

he was almost dead and then almost his entire body becomes invincible except tail, but everytime you stand behind him he just tail whips you and its so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fast you cant even attack it....

wtf is this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥?!

his body parts dont get harder because they are hit, its the lack of them being hit enough.

also i suggest lance. a decent one can give you a good idea what things he does that do damage, and its a solid weapon for fighting him your first time or two till you get a feel for em.

Some things about his body.

His spines grow out as the battles goes on but they are not invincible. You just need to hit them quite a bit with weaker weapons or some times with a strong weapon to destroy them.

But once he grow them all out he will do a dive bomb and you should run left or right when trying to avoid it. After this he loses all of his extra spines on his body.

Been some time since I last played against him but I believe you can cut his tail. His main two horns can be broken as well. Might be able to damage some other body parts.

He doesn't do damage when he does nothing. He must have done an attack on you in order to damage. Much like any other monster in the game unless the monster has a passive damage aura.

But what you might need to focus on is getting better defense on your gear that you have. Farm up armor spheres to boost your armor.

Hey if you want to practice against Nergigante, there's an Arena Challenge Quest going on right now. You have 9 faints, so plenty of time to learn things.

The fundamentals of surviving Nergigante are pretty simple. Don't be too quick to stand back up when he knocks you down, make sure when his spikes have all turned black you are always ready to sheathe your weapon and run away from him to initiate a dive dodge, and also when his spikes have partially grown (white spikes) he is at his weakest and you can do some good damage on him - if you break the spikes before they turn black, you often cause a trip.

Consider using a Thunder weapon, also.

Honestly how i went about beating him was using the terrain to my advantage. Me, my hammer and some sliding charged attack. I don't know, it felt like his attack didn't manage to hit me has much by doing that.

Oh and don't forget to bring a weapon with lightning damage, that help.

Fighting Nergigante rewards agressive play with trips and/or knockdowns.

When he's almost entirely covered in black spikes just evade until he dives and looses them. Then hit him very hard :lunar2019piginablanket:

white spikes are his weakspots. you need to destroy them before they go black. he will stand up / roar and do a dive after all his spikes went black. you can just dive to avoid getting hit and he'll lose all of his spikes. DONT flash him out of this dive - he will fall down but he wont lose his black spikes that way

all the thing you guys are saying does not change anything at all... everytime hes almost dead he goes enrage 99% of the time, keeps charging, his attacks has INSANE area of effect meaning you cant dodge his charge, you cant stand under him anymore, blocking with CB still takes around 30% of your HP its so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid to look at

Take a break and calm down. You are raging and it's making you play worse.

All his attacks can be dodged. You are just not used to his agressiveness.

His nest area is quite small unless he breaks the back wall. This can make it hard to dodge, so consider luring him back out in the larger area. I actually don't know if you can break the wall yourself, but I suspect you can.

What equipment are you using? There may be some easy optimization you can do.

you can super man dive his 360 spike aoe. Also never stand in front of him and always go after his tail.
JPM岩 Jul 30, 2019 @ 9:21am
The Big Trick is to make sure you break his spikes when theyre white; when his spikes turn black, you kinda slowly start getting screwed; when his entire body is covered in black spikes, then he does the super smash
