How do lucky vouchers affect carve/break drops?
Hi all. I understand now that lucky vouchers increase the number of reward boxes on the reward screen, but how does this relate to rewards that are gotten from carves or breaks, such as the Rathalos Ruby (my current target)?

Can the ruby appear in one of these extra boxes, or is it strictly a single box reward if a give part is broken?

Actually, any kind of in-depth explanation of how rewards are figured out would be great!

Thanks!

It grants bonus mission rewards. That's the zenny payout and the boxes that are randomly rolled with monster loot - you'll gain a few more of those, which in turn will roll for extra loot - you might get low frequency stuff like gems, or you might end up with a bunch of crappy scales.

It does not effect your carves or the "bonus" rewards you get for breaking a monsters head, wings etc. Those are handled seperately from the mission payout itself, pretty much just a bonus reward for playing "correctly".

It also does not effect the Investigation payout boxes. You'll always have 2-5 of those which are also rolled separately from the mission and bonus rewards.

Pretty sure lucky vouchers don't affect carves. All post hunt rewards have a set chance to drop with the extra stuff based on part breaks like head, tail, wings, etc.

Chances for ruby to drop are here: https://monsterhunterworld.wiki.fextralife.com/Rathalos+Ruby
Lucky voucher doesn't increase the chance but it gives you an extra chance at getting them.

Lucky voucher doesn't affect hunt reward but it does affect investigation reward like with money it double the chance rarer material

Whenever you can, use them. Don't bother hording them. Trust me, you'd never use them otherwise. lol

it does money, and the top box, the break reward box is unaffected. carves remain the same.

woulda been neat if they made it so you got an extra carve/ cap reward at random. but meh, the vouchers are a thing.

Judging by what everyone said I'd say you're better off going for a capture when using a voucher for even more of a reward

well capturing only adds rewards to the bottom rewards box, which voucher has no effect on. capturing in general yields more rewards though so its typically worth doing. to fully maximize though you'll want to break all parts and cut tail off before you cap. thats how you maximize the second rewards box

Don't forget to get drunk before hunting to get even more rewards.

Ah, I hadn't even considered that the top and bottom boxes are separate things! Thanks!
