you can use that build for fight the elder dragons as well?
To answer your questions, unfortunately dragon element isnt as good as other elements vs elder dragons atm, so I wouldnt really use it outside of rathians, rathalos and deviljhos.
As for critical eye vs attack, in elemental bow builds its higher dps to increase the element 1st before going attack. Since I had almost dragon attack cap from level 4 dragon attack, the next best thing to buff elemental damage was to go with critical eye.
Elemental damage has a 1.35x crit multiplier on bow with critical element, whereas raw has a base of 1.25x. In my case raw had 1.3x because I managed to fit in one level of critical boost. Because of this, you could argue that attack boost may have actually been a better choice (marginally better at best) or just as good as critical eye because of the one level of critical boost in my build. In the end, I wanted more reliability by having 90% affinity instead of 80% and wanted to capitalize on the elemental damage by buffing it as much as possible.
He derped for a second.
My mad skillz it was calculated
sub 5 minutes is not bad though. but a hammer, charge blade and greatsword can do faster than that. if you're aiming for speedfarming, try to get 3 minutes or so.
Otherwise, great vid. Keep it up, mang! :D
Some maths (with CB 1):
AB 1: (180 + 3*1.2)/180 = 2% boost in dps raw
CE 1: 3*.3 = 1% dps boost raw + 1% elem
AB 4: (180 + 12*1.2)/180 + 5*.3 = 9.5 dps boost raw + 1.5% elem
CE 4: 15*.3 = 4.5% boost raw +4.5% boost elem
AB 7: 15.5 raw, 1.5 elem
CE 7: 9% raw, 9% elem
So with weapon that do more elemental damage than raw (such as dragonbone), the more CE you have, the higher the dps gain. But it's splitting hairs at some point
This is the main reason why I'm using dragonbone bow. You don't need Ballistics if you use close range coating, you can be as close as you want without getting your damage reduced. I have 6 attacks jewels but somehow still missing normal shot and mind's eye ballistics decos lol
The build that I really wanted to use was:
Hazak Velos II (x2 affinity)
with skillz:
Constitution Lv3
Attack Boost Lv4
Dragon Attack Lv3
Bow Charge Plus Lv1
Critical Boost Lv1
Mind’s Eye/Ballistics Lv1
Normal Shots Lv1
Spread/Power Shots Lv1
Weakness Exploit Lv3
Critical Element
Would have allowed me to use power coating at close range without worrying about the critical distance.
Dragon cloak is rly bad, the dragon attack it gives is a small amount and if you're already capped it doesnt increase it beyond the cap, evasion is much better imo.
