It is usually the better of the two. But it hasn't been updated since the console Jho release, if I'm not mistaken. So any changes since then may not be found in there either.
This might already answered, but the people from the wiki stoped caring a long time ago. Purple sharpness is implemented in World, unfortunately no weapon uses it (yet).
if you're looking for dlc stuff then yeh sadly it will be; kiranico updates mostly off of some official indepth japanese strategy guides (like western ones but on steroids)
You also cant use it on any bowgun that has elemental ammo (including dragon).
Okay. So the bad one currently has things like, every weapon shows as purple sharpness and all hidden elements are treated as not hidden.
The good one hasn't updated since Jho.
Steam forums are a wretched hive of scum and villany (myself included)...
... where is the useful info on this game?
Here and there.
Reddit can be a good source. When it comes to MH it's not as toxic as some suburbs of Redditown.
Gamefaq is...gamefaq, so if you can sail through these poisonous sea, you may find some info. But you really need to put on the hazmat suit, 'cause even the Monster Hunter street of Gamefaq is radioactive.
And some youtubers. Gaijin and Arekkz had some nice videos. Plenty of others manage to give correct info, and comments can point out when they make mistakes.
Some youtubers specialize in specific weapons, you may have to search a bit to find them. (CaoSlayer for GL, for example.)
(Side Note: JinJinx: Mathalos Main should also be checked out when it comes to Kulve's mechanic and how to farm her in the most efficient way, since he made two or three videos about her)
So, it's pretty much gold digging to get reliable info :p
