Grab a watermoss in the zone, when its rage (lightning crackling on its body) shoot water moss at him and end the fight :steamhappy:

make sure you use a nulberry to cure thunder blight as well. Otherwise he does crazy damage on you and you get stunned a lot.

You can lure him to Rathian or Rathalos or even Anjanath for some free dmg. Don't try to aerial him when he hug the tree, it's suicide lol xD Sometime no need to wait for exactly 3 insect buff, red and white is still great with atk speed and dmg if you have open to strike him, crush his face to make him fall to easy throw everything you have at him lol xD

You have better change to join a hub with similar ranking (auto matching would do it nicely).
I generally don't join low rank SOS for some reasons:
1) It's for your own good (new hunters) because I would kill it in less than 2 minutes and took out your fun.
2) You gonna need to learn the monster attack pattern and your weapon move sets to counter up coming hunts that the game throwing at you.
3) Too many new players got carried through the game and they are can not do anything at endgame beside getting carted constantly and failed quest thus generate more hate toward new players and create more toxic community.

Tobikadachi is actually the first difficulty checkpoint new players have to get through, the damage and faster animation spikes from barroth and lower.
I would suggest upgrading your armor to survive hits slightly better, but overall dodging is still better if you are using insect glaive. If you really enjoy Insect glaive just continue using it there is no need to change to a different weapon.
Another tip when fighting him is when he hangs himself on the trees, immediately hit him. That will cause him to fall instead of being able to electrify his fur.

Many monsters have a difficult mechanic that needs adjustment.

I seem to recall that when he gets all electrified you can throw watermoss at him and he will fall over.

Also when he is climbing on a wall if you hit him with a stone I think you can knock him off (once again knocking him over).

I thought anjanath is the first difficult spike xD

That's what I thought. Since I played MH before I was pretty much confident with whatever monsters before Tobi wearing that pre-order set that offers 2 defense per piece(if i remember correctly). To my surprise Tobi 1 shots me so that's pretty much a sign it's time to upgrade. Of course now that I am done with the game I could try fighting him naked or whatsoever but a single mistake is pretty much a 1 shot.

Someone pointed this good advice. Don't learn IG first. If you are newcomer of the series, try learn weapon with ground control first. You can't expect to be good with IG if you still poorly unable to control on ground fight

It's Damien님이 먼저 게시:
Step 1: Don't play aerial style Insect Glaive. While it looks flashy, it leaves you wide open and doesn't deal as much damage if you were on the ground.

Step 2: Learn the monsters attacks. Learn to dodge, when to attack, when to heal.

Step 3: Fighting Monsters solo means they have less health. Joining other peoples monsters and getting them complete just means you're being a burden to them. Learn to carry your own weight first.

you'll get better with time, I do most of my hunt solo mostly because I want to learn about each monster attack
Kodachi is really easy to fight like great jagras, he move a lot yeah but he also leaving quite the opening for you to interupt (when he on the trees, shoot him with slinger) or dodge it away

Also like other people said, as a newcomer, do not learn IG first, you should focus on easy to learn weapons first (LS, DB, hammer, bow) and priority everything into learning monster attacks and how to dodge, then you can focus on learning weapons after you know how monster will act

When it climbs on a tree get directly under it. Not only is it (sometimes) possible to attack its tail, you'll be out of the way of its leaping attack.

If you want to do mounting damage then use the downward slash aerial attack. The aerial dance attack is only really useful for breaking hard to reach spots and closing gaps. The only hit out of the entire dance flurry that does mounting damage is the last one that bounces you up. I know it doesn't make since, but that's how it is programmed. The downward slash, on the other hand, does more damage per hit and every attack does mounting damage. That being said, don't just spam mounts. in order to deal effective damage you need to get used to your ground combos. there are two main ones. one that sends you flying but does large damage per hit, and one that keeps you relatively in place but does less damage. the latter can be more consistent damage as it doesn't require you to constantly reposition.

Hit the head or the tail and don't get hit. Applies to pretty much every monster.
