Friendly fire, really?
So, what is the point exactly to have friendly fire in this game aside from making hunting with others annoying? My Elemental Discharge stuns other players, the dude that was playing with me ruined my attack with his lance, seriously, this is dumb af. It's like:"Oh sir, sorry i was in your way, please go first and attack, i'll wait for my turn." You can't bring one good argument for having friendly fire in this game, not one!

Means gotta think a little when you go in and start mashing. Position around the monster so you don't hit each other.

Or use a weapon with enough armor during your attacks that it doesn't matter. :ReimuHakurei:

It doesn't make sense to have friendly fire when almost all the weapons are GIGANTIC WITH GIGANTIC HITBOXES, of course people will get hit no matter what, the monsters are huge but not colossal and they have limited weakpoints.
Almost every weapon has attacks during which you cannot be flinched.

it doesn't make sense if you hit some1 with a big weapon and they don't flinch

1 rank in Flinch Free is all it takes to get rid of flinching.

Most weapons have super armor making them unable to be interrupted by friendly fire.

Most monsters are large enough that even with giant weapons swinging in giant arcs, you should almost never hit each other.

Git gud. :steammocking:

It encourages learning your weapon better and knowing how to avoid ruining other peoples damage output while still maintaining your own.

tl;dr: It teaches you to play better.

Stop clumping on the head then. :lunar2019deadpanpig:

The game is about positioning and planning your attacks. Friendly fire makes perfect sense in that regard.

In theory maybe, in-game two people with big ass weapons are bound to hit each other when they are attacking the hitpoint of a monster.

Except it doesn't work, like i said before and like it happens in-game, weapons are ridiculously huge and monster have limited weakpoints, people will flock to a specific weakpoint and start attacking, and with the huge ass hitbox of these weapons, they will hit each other. "B-but just go attack another weakpoint." LOL, when you have a good window to attack the monster you won't change your place and risk losing the chance to do high damage against the monster. It's a bad game mechanic, period.

All I'm seeing from your posts is complaining. Learn to position better and use the skills the game provides.

It's really not a big deal.

nah dont even dignify em. if he doesnt want to problem solve around a mechanic like many have done in all the past games then eff em.

you want really bad flinching and friendly interruptions? play generations ultimate.

Sticky shot launches people away from the head.

there is no super armor against players AT ALL.

world is atleast built with new people in mind, the friendly fire is the simple drawbacks to certain weapon choices.

LS, great DPS and all round maneuverability, its wide reach always ensures it lands a hit when near the target, drawback, its wide reach means your a loner, if your in a cluster of hunters your making people sad and ultimately killing the teams DPS at the benefit of your own.

HBG, cluster king, blows everything up, including hunters.

DB, spamspamspamspamspmspasmpasmpasmapsmapmsapms

LANCE, CHARRRRRRRRRGE!

the easy lesson is, know your position. not everyone is suited to the weakest point, if your looking up charts and going "well my weapon is suited for this location, drop in a team hunt and everyone has brought a weapon suited to that location, you have planned poorly and will be punished.

justify it all you want, your bad team dynamic is all thats really at fault here since with friendly fire, people have tackled WAY harder challenges in past games.

if the idea of "just don't hit your team" is too difficult for you to even think that its possible then you have the solution of using flinch free.

for the teams that can do this in practice, WITH 4 PEOPLE EVEN, they can use all their dps skills unhindered without needing this handicap.

its not really a big deal either way. 1 deco isnt really a game changer for 99% of the player base

Two words. Flinch Free. Problem solved. Or learn your positioning.
ArtificialQT Mar 16, 2019 @ 2:31pm
I've used my friend's GS as a launcher to perform 2 aerial attacks in quick succession.

I don't see why I should have that option removed just because you're bad.
