Auto-Climb down vines = annoying
Devs really need to make you jump off things by default, who on gods green earth would be like "Hey let me rappel down this instead of jump in a game that has no fall damage"

I find myself in this situation. I want to jump off something, but he grabs vine, then climbs back up, then down, then up, and i dont know which freaking way to push the analog stick so i just press B and leapfrog off like an idiot. It really is like 5 seconds completely wasted

Now as i run towards ledges i press A and B rapidly so he does at least some sort of jump. Other times he will dive into an invisible wall. Other times i have to press B to jump down.. Make up your damn mind game!

MHW is probably the best game i've ever played. But its a dynamic free movement game. Why mix in these pre-scripted things (like the rope jump or the swimming through a waterway) That garbage really caught me off guard.

Why not just make the entire game dynamic? It seems so weird to mix scripts into a game with such free and fluid motion

I know this post wont have any effect on the game. But one can dream. Remove the scripts! Make it a fully free flowing game like the other 99% of the free flowing motion

Or you could hold the run button towards a ledge like the rest of us.

There are some points in the game, where you want to grab the climbing part, isntead of jumping down. If you want to jump, just run towards the edge, like the others here explained allready. 2 examples for not wanting to jump instantly, are parts on Zorah Magdaros. When he stands, there are 2 walls, you have to be carefull, if you don't want to waste time. Jumping down by default, makes that quite hard.

I only hate it when the game takes control of my camera and starts panning around like its some slo mo matrix cinematic. At no point do I ever need the game to take control of my mouse or camera. Like why do I even have to press ESC after the hunt finishes just so that I can cancel that stupid 15 seconds of my camera rotating around my char...

Let me have full control of my char please. There is no reason for the game to take control...
Good example..you're on a hunt with multiple targets. First monster is about to go down or someone is heading over to it to capture it. So the rest of the team heads over to 2nd monster to start dpsing.... when 1st monster gets captured.. 5 second camera take over because the game feels the need to SHOW me the monster was captured by taking control my char completely and panning around the capture monster for 5 seconds.... Umm I'm kinda in the middle of dpsing the 2nd monster, and don't need controls of my char taken thank you very much.

Just a small annoyance really. I'm sure it comes down to personal preferences on what is annoying and what isn't. But for me.. I just see no reason for the game to actually take control of my char. It's like when I start an investigation and get dropped off at a random place...

Completely pointless as we can fast travel. So why drop me off in the middle of the map?

Don't press anything other than the analog stick and the run button and you won't accidentally grab on to anything. It's wierd at first cause 90% of the games you play require pressing a button to jump. Just run off the edge and it will jump automatically.

Edit: personally I find the auto climb up vine annoying. Trying to reposition to hit a monster but get to close to the wall just to find yourself stuck to it.
