Sticky 3 will be your main ammo you'll use as damage. Try to aim it at the face of the monster for that sweet KO's. No crit or weakness exploit as explosive damage does not crit. Focus into damage and artillery as the main damage boost for them. the xeno armor skill does proc a lot during the hunt and will save you ammo and more dps output.
You want to start carrying and add to your quick crafting radical to make sticky ammo lvl 3 while in-combat. If you're going to use pierce 3, you'll want to use Legia Shattercryst as Magda is not made to be efficient to use pierce 3.
So bring crafting materials to make sticky 3 ammo while in a hunt and craft from your quick menu while reloading.
bombardier only affects barrel bombs :/ the magda gemitus is an explosion gun, you typically don't want to shoot anything that isn't an explosive unless it's a status shot or a wyvern ammo
"Non-Elemental Boost and Bowguns:
Can my bowgun use Non-Elementsl Boost?
Well, Does it have the ability to use elemental ammo(Dragon, Flaming, Thunder, Freeze, Water)?
If the answer is Yes it does then No it can not use Non-Elemental Boost.
If the answer is No it doesn't....Then it can use Non-Elemental Boost.
Anyone who tells you otherwise is uninformed, or trolling you."
This actually explains alot, wish the game made it more clear.
Yeah the game doesn't for some stuff. Like for HBG's doesn't show the damage for each ammo with all your skills. That info you'll have to look up build simulatiors like honey hunter which I use for my builds and it shows base, average, and crit of ammo types.
Magda performs best with sticky 3 and a bit with wyvern ammo. It also has the bonus of using para 2, sleep 2, posion 2, and exhaust 2. I find it very multiplayer friendly for the amount of CC ammo it has plus your main ammo has KO ability.
