Legiana has some seriously telegraphed attacks. Just watch her a bit and get the timing down. Flash Pods are your friend! If she is flying too much flash her!
Her only dangerous attack is the blizzard tail swipe which hits like a truck at lower armors. Staying close to her and rolling towards her will let you dodge it more easily than to the side or backwards.

Make the paolumu armor and be sure to upgrade their defenses. That should help a bit against legiana's ice attacks. Best advice is to just learn her move and dodge whenver you see one of her big attacks incoming. Flash pods also helps a lot against flyers in general.

Oh and be sure to bring items to cure the debuffs she deals to you. Never fight any monsters while you're under the effect of a debuff.

Gotta watch out for her ice attacks, they hit like a truck. I suggest trying stun resist against her, it's easy to get. Use the iceproof mantle if you got it and pack some flashpods and nullberies in case she hits you with ice. Evertime she flies you can flash her out of the sky and get some good hits in.

Have you upgrades your armour? Or perhaps use an armour skin potion if you can craft some. Don't forget your meal buffs either!

Hrm... Legiana is a bit of a skill check, have to learn to dodge those ice blasts and the trails they leave on the ground. They inflict ice blight which makes your stamina drain fast. If you have nullberries use them to remove the ice blight, they can be found in the Coral Highlands, especially in the upper area that looks kinda like a sloped arena.

I would recommend upgrading your armor if you can, look for armors that give ice resistence. Such as maybe the High Metal armor if you can.

Flashpods helps alot (vs flying in general).

The palico has an equip called :shieldspire.
So pretty much your palico becomes your aggro shouting tauning yelling tanking buddy. :)

When eating food grab the ele resist L food, every bit helps. :)
Bring nullberries ( for the stamina reduse blight).

Check the attack patterns, Legiana is pretty easy to read regards attacks.
failing a mission 2 times in a row sucks, but sh!t happens.

Otherwise try SoS so you can see / learn how other ppl do it. :)

If you are using SnS, Legania is super easy.

In the first area you fight her just use helm breaker over and over. You are going to do a bunch of damage and in between you will be doing mounts.

Lastly flash pod spam each time she takes off.

This will basically keep her in the ground and yourself safe.

-----

Helm breaker is your two attack buttons when facing into a wall.

Fighting her this way is incredibly fun.

Make a few pieces of High Metal armor. Each piece starts with 18 defense and has 3 ice resist. Upgrade a few times if possible. Helm has Ice Resistance Lvl 1 skill that adds another 6 resist. Gloves have Defense Boost Lvl 1. Eat for Elemental Resist Up. Ideally you either want to get 20+ Ice Resist to nullify Ice Blight or carry nullberries.

EDIT: You can also upgrade your Blooming Knife once more to Rarity 4.

On my first try after heeding your guys advice i beat it with ease, no deaths

i had no idea you could climb vines, press B, which leapfrogs you off the wall then press Y onto a mount. I knocked her down 3 times using this method. Is that what helmbreak is called?

and i flashed her everytime she took flight

i also used the hi metal gear (hlemet which has +6 ice protect and gloves) that was reccomended

I also used armorskin potion

I can't believe how easy that was! I always assumed my gear was so low that "ice protection 6" was such a small measly number it wouldn't make any difference.

And thanks for suggesting nulberries.

This thread is the reason i was able to capture her, thankyou guys so much

Monster Hunter has always been a game with options on how to approach the fights. There are so many choices when it comes to armor, weapons, and skills that it can be overwhelming, but sometimes all it takes is literally one skill and a little change to your tactics here or there to make a challenging fight trivial. Likewise, some people have the skill to do fights naked because they have superhuman reflexes with dodges, timing, and reading the monsters.

The point is that nothing is ever truly impossible and the game will reward you for learning from your experiences and adapting to new challenges.

So your using an XBOX controller by the look of it.

Helm Break is Y+B when Facing into the wall.

This attack actually leads into a number of different attacks based on where you use it.

Y+B Its the attack that has you hop forward and draw your sword into an upward slash.

When used up or down a ledge it goes into a mounting damage attack.

When used when facing a runnable wall it will run up it and then leap off.

The attack you do when leaping off a wall youve run up or used the Y+B attack is called Helmbreaker.

Its where you point the sword down and smash through the monster while falling out of the sky. It also does mounting damage.

damn i had no idea sword and shield could do so much. I just thought there was 2 attacks. I just tried the training arena for hammer and learned so much stuff i had no clue about. I will do sword and shield training next to try out some of that stuff cheers

Bring nullberries, flash pods, Demon drug and armorskins.

Demon Drug and armor skins give you attack and defense boosts UNTIL YOU DIE.

nullberries get rid of the ice debuff the monster inflicts.

Firing a flash pod when she's in the air will drop her and stun her for a few seconds.

Alternatively you can fire up an SOS flare or bring friends.

I could help you if you'd like.
