Learn from your mistakes?
Don't get hit.
play the game, a lot, play not to get hit while also doing BIG damage, play to beat the monster in less than 10 minutes, set these little goals for yourself and you could see improvement in your play :mhwgood:
start by playing Old World(old gen)
once you mastered MHFU,you can laugh at how easy MH:W is

I don't think that's an actual job you can get anywhere. 'pro' means professional btw. It means you're getting paid to do it. It's not synonymous with 'good'.

Wait for the next tournament and sign up

I stand corrected. Didn't realize there was actually a pro MonHun league.

Learn Monster pattern and master your weapon. While doing so, try to avoid using mantels/items/aoe-buff things. The majority of the MHW community does not know any mechanics. It's just equip the mantle, turn off your brain and just use your strongest moves.
Hit the monster, don't get hit yourself.

But, seriously, focus more on avoiding attacks than landing your own. Eventually you learn when you have openings and when you don't.
Learn math? I see pro player tends to calculate the ko damage of monster.

Lastly you need 1 partners with similar goal. You cant pro this game solo.
What do you mean by PRO? A pro is a professional, someone who does something that he is paid for. You will never be a pro at this game, but you can get gud, and you do that by playing learning monster patterns how to preddict them and how to properly dodge and also learning what attacks you can take and which to get out of the way of.
Play the game, practice and watch some weapons guides on youtube..it's that simple

ITS A FIGURE OF SPEECH FOR GOOD
Since every weapon plays different, you should look out for your favourite one; the one you feeling good with. As a newbie its easier to concnetrate on one weapon, learning the moves and their uses.

Only use one weapon and play through the game. And do that solo.
Monster moves can be observed much easier when they only focus on you.

Practice.

First, you learn your weapon. You learn what moves you have, what each button does, what mechanics work, what to avoid using at what time/situation, and what skills are best for it.

Next, you learn the monster(s). You learn how the monster(s) moves, what the tells are for each move, where to find it, when it is weak enough to capture, and what is it weak to.

Concurrently, you learn the mechanics of the game. You learn where the environmental hazards are that you can use, what flash pods do, what sonic pods do, how to trap a monster, how the map looks like, how to fast travel, how to improve your palico and his/her gadgets, how to get more ingredient in canteen, what canteen is and how it works, and more.

Last, you put all 3 together.

Literally all there is to it is practice and research.

You get better as you play - that's like THE THING about MH games.
There are however many hidden mechanics, many things you need to learn from other people on the internet because the game will either not tell you about them or will only briefly mention them.

Like did you know that greatsword gets 5% bonus damage if you hit a monster with the middle of the blade?

Still - everything about it comes down to utilizing your knowledge in an effective way which again leaves us with more practice.

Learn, adapt, overcome and most importantly: Never give up!
