So now we post DPS #'s?
First time seeing this in MH... i have to be honest, it has no place in this series. As a 14 year veteran of MH and a MMO gamer since EverQuest... this is the kind of thing that quickly gets toxic. First off, 9/10 people who use DPS charts, are just looking to stroke their E-peens, unless we're all on even footing, say max cap in WoW and geared enough for raids... it makes little sense to measure damage. In a game where a HR 13 can team up with an HR vastly higher, i see little reason to post damage numbers outside of ego. It also damages support roles. People start to get the CoD syndrome of MUST FARM KILLS mentallity... it's not good believe it.

My proposal is this, someone pops a DPS check, laugh at them before you leave. Especially if they are bold enough to do so after responding to your SoS in normal gear fighting + monsters. The only time i see that being useful, and i do use it in games like WoW, is when you're trying to improve yourself, or guild training. Outside of that, it's a classic ♥♥♥♥ move.

End rant. :steamhappy:

or just ignore it and enjoy the game as you usually would

There is even a mod for people to see other players DPS in a fight, which is pointless and naive of the modder, who said ["It is more than reasonable for some weapon to deal much less damage than other weapons. You should not expect everyone to play the game seriously. The tool is for you to know the strength and weakness about yourself - It is not for you to blame others unless someone is not even casually playing the game. Please BE POLITE, thanks."]

I mean, does he actually know that this mod literally promotes toxicity for those "Muh DPS" dudes, not just for ownself DPS check

I understand the desire for dps meters, I just wish there wasn't a key to post the details in chat.

I usually use mine just to see if I'm not making the fight longer for the others when I bring an untested build or a weapon I've not used in a while.

And that's why he's literally advising people not to be toxic towards others.
Honestly people who complain about these DPS mods are more toxic than the ones who actually use them.

Just get over it, okay? It doesn't promote toxicity, it's your insecurities that make you feel that way.
Serek Oct 11, 2018 @ 11:13pm
Maybe we need a "safe space" free of dps meters? Cry me a river.
KnockerLocker Oct 11, 2018 @ 11:15pm
Its stupid to have a dps check or meter in this due to some build focus on support via status like sns paralysis .

It much better to check if your member is 150+ hp with gear upgraded.

No point of playing seriously even your team is well gear to dps yet carting left and right.

If you want a fast run just assemble a hbg cluster spam party.

It is STUPID to have it in a Non-MMO game. Why is there a feature to post the details in the chat? Tell me then, arent that toxic? You are getting offended here, as clearly shown, but I see no other reason for you to be offended other than getting mentioned as one of the "Muh DPS" dudes

Is DPS check a thing in MH LOL, this has to be a joke.

So you're telling me that showing how much progress your team has done towards taking down a monster is toxic behavior?

Tell me, do these people actually insult you after posting the damage numbers or do you just feel insulted that your name is below somebody else's and feel insecure about that?

Yeah whatever, all you can come with is I am feeling insecure, look at you supporting vs the number of people actually not wanting the DPS mod, tell them as well that they arent feeling insecure then.

Why are you getting offended, I have no idea, you could be one of those "Muh DPS" dude or a troll, whatever

Honestly it got westernized too much. I almost feel like the beta was tested on a bunch of teenagers and they couldn't get a handle on why they couldn't hack and slash away. Even have a type of health bar. It's like they tried but so little monsters, HP is low, everything is stupidly slow (I wanted to see something to top MH4U, nope...). I've a friend I met in game from Japan that was joking about it but asked if I was western, told him cult follower and yes, so we had a long laugh about the difficulty. I never thought I'd see this series become easier than Gen. Feels like Villiage at best. Solo is the way to play, or for fun duo's only for the increase and look for times. But if they are the main playerbase right now, I think it sold a lot and we never really saw how small of a player base the "vets" are. I don't freak about people carting but i'm surprised to see these people that cart all over in HR 100's right now. Had some people on my guild card list that was also a huge missed opportunity for online friend joining without steam, but played with them recently and no real change. Pickle wa carting them...and it wasn't tempered. I din't understand, just told them wait at camp...and they said great...like seriously enthusiastically. I was making a joke, figured we would fail so I soloed it, and we were only two minutes in. Got it down in about 7, meh time but still, you never quit. Just sort of leave after and solo for skill. Here, nope, just trap Kirins at HR 150+. I've never inspected gear and i've tried that, even the cookie cutter builds, people look em up but don't understand weakspots. Dragon Pierce on the head but nowhere else, upswings and they basically eliminated trips.

But we all started off crappy so maybe the player base will grow. Just solo or find people on duo investigations or on the forums and build a little crew of competency. I still just let randoms join if I'm not doing solo, usually gear to help and still do decent damage to try and keep the fight going but not just kill everything. Surprised when on quests people go off and fail fighting the lesser monster but also get mad when I go and kill it. I mean like freaking out that they doubled and don't fight it. Then we beat it while they chug potions and get wide ranged the whole time. Someone on the forums here said the difficulty complaint I had was in surviving randoms lol.

May I ask, is this a mod that shows in the chat? I had someone post up something and it had damage numbers per person, they came in third but i'd no idea what it was. Saw another again, person was raging about the head using sns while I was running GS or something heavy, they got 1st place on this chat thing but barely hit the mon. Quest went fast too...

If anything, the number of people complaining about it, assuming that it ruins teamplay, and is merely a tool for the arrogant are the ones being toxic.

And look at you trying so hard to convince yourself that I'm a troll for simply having a different opinion than yours. Label me as a "muh DPS" dude all you want, I simply think that not everyone is an a** hole for wanting to see the damage that they do, and that not every person will behave rudely just because there is an opportunity to be.
