Dealing with lavasioth
Anyone got any tips dealing with this catfish? All i know is that using fire element weapon and torch pod can "re-heat" the hardened carapace.

Sticky ammo bowguns works perfectly, so does shelling only GL. Everything else will struggle without Minds Eye.
There are torch pods all over the place, pick them up shoot the area(s) you want to hit and wail on him. He's really not that difficult. Good luck.

IG, just jump around and spin that glaive 'til something breaks or you've done enough jump damage to mount.

but yeah, torch pods are everywhere. if you lack screamer pods, argosy has pretty much a good rate if you request for consumables. He also brings in dung pods, flash pods, all the potion types which can be be a real helper to keep your stuff stocked.

Torch pod and water element weapons should take it down pretty easily. Bow should be quite strong since he is slow and telegraphs when it spits out lava balls.

You don't need to bother about re-molten his armor. Just go Gun Lance and own him, no matter what.

Lavasioth is one example how people should stop having a "main weapon", since in MH franchise never had sense.

You can do everything with any weapon, but some may be "better"/"safer"/"less stressful" for some monster.

Yea there's a lot of torch pod around the area lavasioth is usually at. I've killed lavasioth multiple of times, it is just damn annoying lol especially when my attack keep getting deflected.

What does screamer pod do exactly towards lavasioth?

I'm not used to using bow but I might give it a try next time I'm killing this catfish :steamhappy:

Or you know, just put fire element on kinsect?

Torch pods are everywhere, but you cant make Lavasioth stay by the torch. So unless you play some specific weapons, just craft a fire element weapon for your Palico, and bring your weapon of choice without compromising own damage.

An IG user can put fire element on his kinsect, while one shell alone from a GL should be enough to melt the armor

Seriously though, everytime this topic is brought up, I almost always never see the suggestion to bring a fire weapon for the Palico
cluster is da wae

Don't understand how anyone would have trouble with Lavasioth, by the time you get to even fight one, you should already be well kitted. The only way I could see someone having trouble is if they have been carried through the game, but even then, if you're playing that way, just keep on SOS'ing.

Must've shred that fish a hundred times by now. Never once heard that a fire weapon would work on him; just torch pods. I've got to try this now.

Imo its not about how hard it is (hes way easier than he was in MHFU), it's because people bring max weakness exploit builds without actually knowing how to break through its armor for the skill to have any use

The Jyura Switch Axe tears through it pretty well :P
