Safi'J'iva is the greatest monster and i'm in love.

As the title states, Safi-J'iva is by far one of the most enjoyable fights I have ever had ever and I will die on this hill. I remember seeing stuff for Safi when josh and cotton were going through MHW on their youtube channel and being absolutely amazed and dumb-founded. An adult version of Xeno-J'iva which before Safi we were all wondering what and adult Xeno would look like. Then Safi hit and it was the biggest thing, a massive raid fighting a massive monster, much like Kulve but more in a few ways which I don't care to list off here (too busy thinking about how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool Safi is). Come a few years later and my partner (romantic) has the idea that we should go through MHW together from nothing. We buy MHW on sale and start having our fun. Cutting straight to Safi (disclaimer for context, Safi is a fight that I have been looking forward to ever since getting MHW so from basegame leading all the way up to endgame iceborne I have basically just been B-lining to safi. Of course still making sure I really enjoy the early systems and grind of each stage of the game but I digress.) I could not hold my excitment in, I was actively losing it just SEEING Safi ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ J'iva in front of me and ready to square up.

Sadly though, once we got to Safi it was around the time Kulve siege LITERALLY JUST ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ STARTED so in other words we had to wait the two weeks to fight Safi. Now whether or not this is frowned upon I am going to find out, but I did find a mod that adds 1-4p Safi MR6* quests into optional quests. The temptation to just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fight him finally and blow my unholy amount of nerd load all over the fight was just itching at me. But I didn't, I waited the full two weeks and in that time we beat alatreon and got to fatalis (my gf's favorite monster and the one she had been looking forward to.) now by the time we got to even alatreon, we had basically JUST started the guiding lands farm and didn't even have a single weapon augment to our name. So as expected, the fatalis fight ended poorly, the special assignment at least. So here we are, both waiting to be able to fight our goal monsters, me on a literal time constraint, and my gf not being powerful enough gear-wise(yes I know we could have just farmed kulve but honestly we didn't care enough and were fine waiting, after all, hype only grows when you wait for something that you KNOW DAMN WELL is going to be glorious(*and hoh boy, it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ was*)).

Today was the day, it was it, Safi siege would be here and I would be allowed to learn the dance and get to tango with a legendary monster whom I have been coveting since basegame. My word. Did Safi deliver in ways that I couldn't even fathom. The music, the score, the choir, the setting, the siege itself, the rewards system, the armor, the weapons, the melder ♥♥♥♥, the 3 arenas and their traps, THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SAPPHIRE STAR ITSELF, and Safi, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, J'iva... all of it was and is something incredible to remember. It started off with me and my girlfriend fighting Safi ourselves in our own private server but I thought it'd also be fun to play with others (christ almight was a good ass idea) so I asked her. She thought it'd be fun too and we find this server, asked if people wanted to join and there were a couple. A hammer bro really wanted to fight Safi but he was at the defense of Seliana and I just couldn't help them because alas, I wanted Safi and I wanted to box that dragon BAD(btw idk if that hammer bro will ever see this but I will gladly help you next time we cross paths, happy hunting fellow bonker).

So it was me, my gf who is a bow user, and a player named Nyfty who is a HH main. Our first siege went relatively well, sure we were carting here and there and getting bodied but do understand, it was our first time fighting him. Nonetheless our siege went rather well, we even had a Longsword user for a little time until the partner in crime needed to handle some matters at home. Regardless we beat Safi and the feeling of accomplishment was exemplary only to be toped off by the rewards and the weapons. Being a Charge Blade main it was really nice getting a couple really good elemental CB's to use, Thunder and Blast I got first and now I have the overwhelming urge to blow up the universe. But i wanted more, gf had to clock out for the day so we said our goodnights and me and Nyfty went to go do another siege, it was just us that time so it was a LOT slower. However, sometimes a slow burn can lead to not only greater rewards, but an even greater bus- climax. After over 2 hours of fighting Safi, him retreating, catching us with our pants down and no rocks for cover, and knockdowns upon knockdowns upon ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ knockdowns of that glorious dragon (I was able to consistently double knock this dragon and my god, nipples got har- AAAYYYOOOO, i'm just kidding, i'm not sus.). I took so many clips of that fight, there was so much worry, so much running and dodging for my life, i swear to god hold up. This mfking dragon had something out for me and it was not pleasent. I constantly had Safi's emnity just for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ existing and the laser was a damned visual representation FOR THIS DRAGON LASERING ME DOWN.

I SWEAR TO ♥♥♥♥ THIS DRAGON WAS ON MEEEEEE, i would be doing so much damage, so many saed's so many savage axe rotations and this dragon turned around and (insert josh menacing Safi voice here) "I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU RAT, YOU MAY BE A HUMAN BUT YOU ARE AN ANNOYING LITTLE ONE, NOW D I E" and bbbboyyyyyy was my heart pumping. I was weasiling out of EVERYTHING he could not kill me. till he uhh, said enough's enough and knocked my on my ass to then laser the living ♥♥♥♥ out of my entire being. Now i would normally get mad at not being able to not die but.. I think my masochist came out cause I had a grin and enjoyed that ♥♥♥♥. ANNYWHO, after a long and hard fought battle against the red dragon, we did it, we beat him for the second time and because of it being just me and HH bro, because of it lasting over 2 hours, because of the adventure from start to finish and all those moments due to this beautiful dragon. I hit my final PPHHHAT S.A.E.D on his left hindleg, already mega broken (this siege we had like 90% of the objectives so like every single part was broken, head fully broken along with the chest and back, every, single, part.) and the great dragon fell.

It was a moment of pure and utter bliss and joy, all caps celebrations between me and the HH bro, quickly going over random moments in that last fight whatever the hell came to mind. We got the siege to level ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 14 and by the coomer invested in me, the rewards were beyond immaculate. Of course I wasn't able to max out and elemental CB after that, of course not, and thank ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ god not. I want to fight this dragon even after rolling Fatalis into a pack and smoking him for WEEKS. also sidenote; CAPS BECAUSE I AM VERY VERY INCREDIBLY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PROUD OF MYSELF AND THE HH AND I WANT YOU A L L TO READ THIS. FROM START TO FINISH, THAT ENTIRE SIEGE WENT *PERFECTLY* ALL THE WAY FROM BARELY GETTING HIT AND TAKING FATAL DAMAGE TO KNOCKING THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ DOWN SEVERAL TIMES OVER IN A SINGLE RUN IT WAS PERFECT. WITH GUARD LEVEL 5 ON CB I COULD TANK ANYTHING THIS DRAGON THREW AT ME (eeexcept for the laser..don't try to block the lasers...) AND WITH THAT SEXY SLIDING ATTACK CB GIVES YOU IN SNS MODE I COULD NOT BE HIT. THAT ENTIRE SIEGE WENT *PERFECTLY*.

Finally time for some closing remarks, it's like almost 5 or 6 am here and i'm still calming down from my nerd climax. I absolutely undeniably ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this siege and Safi'J'iva and I will always be ready for a Safi Siege. If there were a monster I would want to take into a glorious battle, it would be Safi. If there were a monster I'd argue for eons would be the strongest monster, It's Safi. I may make rather bold statements, but just like trying to block a point-blank Safi laser, just like STANDING next to a point blank Safi laser. I am a bold man, and this bold man says that Safi is the greatest fight every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ made, and I will never, EVER forget just how amazing this dragon is. I feel changed, I feel new, and I feel accomplished and excited to be fighting this beauty ever more.

I am so incredibly fekin happy that I picked up this game and that this community is as wonderful as it is. Thank you Nyfty for helping me and my gf, and thank you to that one Longsworder who also joined partway through. I love Safi'J'iva and I am so happy that I knew I would fekin love this dragon. It gets boring after 350 kills, including fails maybe 500 600 hunts times let say 18 minutes = 10800 minutes or 180 hours of (in hunt) safi give or take...

I still love it, but its getting boring now.

awesome! me and my partner are gonna be running more safi today, and probably for the rest of the siege time but we'll just be joining other hubs doing safi runs. our last safi run took 5 hours with just the two of us so nooo- not again XD
