And although clunk claw has it's setbacks, it did make some fights with bad hitzones for DB much less frustrating. Jhoe was such a misery fight in vanilla because the legs took no damage and you had to slap them forever to trip him, not only is it more reasonable to do damage with tenderize, but also I swear Savage is more generous letting you hit the chest part by keeping it lower throughout the fight.
Yeah those terrible hitzones in HR Jho are the biggest reason why his hunt is such pain in the ass lol.
Not to mention aside from he moves his tail a lot, i also feel like HR Jho always keep his tail high as well compared to Savage, so not only it's difficult to hit, it makes cutting the tail kinda annoying as well..
Eh i don't really mind if it turns out as "joke" version of OG as long it's fun, HR Deviljho is far from hard but his terrible hitzones make the fight become a chore and boring , and imo Savage did it better because after all, i am hunting for fun as the first reason..
Challenging can be done with a lot of ways, and HR Deviljho version of "challenging" is far from being fun imo.
Also about Savage being easier is really subjective to each person, a lot of my friends found him harder than fighting Rajang or Raging Brachy and the others think he isn't harder than them.
I do think that the dragon breath floor clouds are excessively punishing for melee builds that aren't dragon immune, though. I longlance them entirely for that reason.
Unlike a lot of IB monsters, he doesn't get some instant turnaround attack, has clear windups and endlag relative to the strength of the move he does, doesn't spaz out all over the place usually, and has weakpoints that aren't just his head. He might be "easy" but he's definitely more fun than base Jho
This, this is the point i tried to make..
Being fun doesn't necessarily have to be an ultimate hard, i don't get people like HR Deviljho more than Savage just because HR Deviljho only have small good hitzones area, it makes the hunt become a chore rather than challenging because you are being forced to hitting the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ spots or have to use certain weapons for better result.
Savage makes the hunt more enjoyable to any weapon user imo..
