P2P connection performance
How well these P2P connections perform when you join hosts from different countries in this game?. I played Borderland 3 with friends from distant countries and It was atrocious.

Plays just fine. I've played with people halfway around the world and barely even noticed. Maybe a quarter-second delay on damage numbers popping up, but fighting performs completely without issue.

You know bd 3 or even bd2 are not even using p2p connection anymore. because they have Shift server as a base for multiplayer connection. If you lived in Asia especially in SEA. You will have a terrible connection to the host. Because in SEA region, Shift didn't have a dedicated server in that region so Sea players will force to host lobby in Na region and will enjoy the 500ping experience. Fortunately for bd2, you can just downgrade the version of the game to 1.85 or under. Because on that version you will have pure p2p connection as a multiplayer base. You didn't have to deal with the Shift server and you can enjoy a good multiplayer experience

I have really terrible internet most days and you wouldn't think so playing this game. The worst that happens is if the session has a connection type yours is not compatible with, it may force you or them (or both) to disconnect mid-quest. The only thing that ever lags really badly is the supply box which isn't mandatory to use

The worst you can have is disconnection. When your ping is too high, you can still move around and attack/heal. Monsters are the one affected most, as they will just stand there and be you punching bag. (Well, sometimes they do teleport a bit but it is still playable)

I played the entirity of MHW-IB with 4g mobile connection with random people in my region (SEA) or people in Europe and NA. it's been mostly really good with a few hiccups (when host had a really bad connection or when my connection acted up). Idk how capcom even do it, i even played classic mh games on local play over the internet, it was mostly more than playable experience even when i matched up with a dude from halfway across the world
