sound like you are maybe a little bit undergeared for the fight, so upgrade your armor to 1k+ value and you should be fine
fortify is a nice skill if you suck and still trying to solo, you are returning stronger after every cart and it can be used twice 20%more attck and 30% more def for a single lvl1 deco slot.
you haven't posted your used gear, so it is hard to figure out where you may fail.
health boost+3 is mandatory in mr fights
Especially since even Zinogres Dragon attack are still partially Physical meaning not all of it will be even reduced by the Dragon Resistance.
You should look for other sources of defensive skills. If you don't have them, Health Boost, Divine Blessing and if you don't mind fainting a few times, Fortify, are the basic ones.
If I get caught in that wave of dragon fire, it can deliver some decent damage, but I can tell it was way down after I got my dragon defense up to 23. What was really destroying me was when he would jump on me or when I would clutch it and he would throw me off into the air. That was massive damage.
2. ER is mostly useless unless the monster's attack have a higher portion of elemental damage, like Kirin for example. Another common use of ER is stacking it until 20 to gain specific blight resistance, which, could also be achieved by having the skill BlightResistance.
If you're struggling with specific monster, utilize your mantles. Mantles give a 70% damage reduction of specific elements. (Same condition as point 2, if the monster's attack are mainly physical, the damage reduction won't be too visible). Plus, it also gives complete immunity to blights/debuffs related to its element. For example, fireproof mantle grants fireblight, blastblight and hot area DoT effects, which will be useful against Brachidios.
Rajang is a mostly physical monster. I would recommend using Temporal + Vitality mantle. If you have access to, swap Vitality to Rocksteady.
It sounds like Rajang and Brachy-chan are your targets at the moment. Both can be tricky in that you can be kicking their behinds most of the fight, and then out of nowhere they kill 2-3 people within just a few seconds. Rare, but it can happen with an inexperienced group.
Anywho, Brachy is obvious enough. Rajang, however...unless you have a skilled team the best bet is to have someone clutch claw a wound into his back so that he is easier to damage.
Good luck.
Usually with end game fights, you're gonna get two-hit in a good combo anyway. Even with Fatty, AT Velk, or Ala gear, it's easy to get caught in situations where you get combo'd back to camp within literal seconds.
Eventually when you get to Alatreon, Fatalis, and AT Velk, you're going to need more room in your builds for damage skills anyway, since those three fights are pure DPS checks. I know this is gonna sound a bit like I'm saying "git gud", but I promise its not; you'll fare a lot better by learning each monster's movesets, as well as the timing for dodging with your preferred weapons. Skills like evade window and evade extender are gonna be your two best friends for that. I'm a hardcore bow main, and even I managed to solo Fatalis with a Great Sword build I made randomly, despite only having double digit hunts with the weapon.
If you ever want a hunting partner, I'm always down. I have patience with learning hunters cause we've all been there, and I'd like to say I'm pretty good at making builds... even for weapons I've never touched. I did have a fatalis build end up in an Arekkz video for a weapon I never use after all ;p
Just shoot me a friend request/message whenever. I'm still new to the game on PC but I'm about to beat IB already, so almost caught up to you
Ok, I will do away with the defense decorations and wearing the amulet. I will reinforce with evade helpers. I agree about learning the move sets. Ive already been doing that. These later fights remind me of Dark Souls a bit. Ive completed all 3 of those.
Is maxing out the elemental resists like fire and lightning a waste in most cases too? Since physical damage is most of the damage. I did find using the lightning with the Kirin was nearly essential and made the fight easy for me.
So much of this game depends on equipment, it can make all the difference it seems.
