Then I'm just a regular dude that's married to a beautiful horn but still doing naughy stuff backdoor with a lovely greatsword.
Must be the new time and age where jokes and things always hurt someone's feeling
Way better and more useful feature than romance. Probably not necessary in solo because everyone already refers to you by title anyways, though. Maybe it could be a multiplayer option?
At any rate, adding a romance feature would not only suck up significant resources if it were to be a meaningful system, it's overwhelmingly likely that it would suffer from a great number of problems caused by conflicting design focuses.
In the MH series, the player has essentially always been a blank slate yes-man with no personality or even voice. They are the mechanical vessel for the player, and not really an entity all their own. The MH team is already not very good at writing stories, and this change would require them to essentially reverse their style of character writing for the Hunter that's been going for like 12 games now. I really don't think they're up for that, especially with the paper-thin excuse plots and characters carried only by quirkiness which have become a staple of the series.
This isn't the worst video game related take I've ever seen, but it's pretty close.
Monster Hunter is in no way meant for young children. It is simply too complex and too difficult of a game, especially when one considers how little handholding/explanation of mechanics is present (particularly in the early games). The very long nature of hunts and the grinding aspect also don't mesh well with short attention spans.
From personal experience, I actually tried the series (MHTri) at that age, and it was a mess. I had no idea what I was doing; Great Jaggi hunts routinely took 20+ minutes because I had no idea what the concept of hitzones even were.

Okay this made me change my mind. I'm on board with romance in MH now.
Ah, Great Jaggi hunts for newbie players.
