MH is about beating up animals, why would they ever add romance? the story is literally just an excuse to beat up more things, it's hardly a focus at all.
besides, don't we already have enough r34 art? lol

Why waste resource to add something completely optional while only an extreme minority of the player base demands it. Capcom might be rich but not MH team. Two of the latest game, World and Rise still shows signs of lackluster in terms of content or general quality. Heck, even one of the World weapon design team leader complain about lack of funds back in one of the dev diary, so that's why we get reskin sh*t for bowguns and hunting horn.

Non of the monster hunter NPC has distinct personalities nor character development, and MH team clearly isn't good at writing stories. Most of the NPC are designed to serve their functional purposes and not to form bond with player. So the only romance option you might be left is bestiality.

Asking for romance option in a MH game is like asking for farming sims in a Souls like game. The genre don't match, and it will be a great waste of resource to develop something only to fulfill like 0.001% of playerbase's fantasy. There are a lot of re-creation media for MH games out there, so if you really love MH's world that much, go look for it. But if you're only asking for romance option for 'character that looks in MH' instead of 'character with specific back story and personality in MH', then play something else like Honey Select.

This is Monster hunter. You can always try to flirt people ingame, i don't really know what else to say.

Gonna be honest, I would write a negative comment and pirate the game if they announced that they have spent storage space, time, money and effort into a meaningless romance option in a game with paper characters instead of giving me more content which actually affects gameplay.

If they add a romane option in MH stories, go ahead, that's more of an rpg with actual characters you can have some sort of opinion of.

Also, most people with this kind of interest prefer to just make female characters and that's their waifus.

I don’t see any engaging way to ever present that option unless creating entirely new mechanics for the game simply based on dating simulation. This isn’t that type of RPG. As it stands, adding in the sole mechanic of partnership with AI—what are you two going to do, exactly? Hunt monsters together? Stay at base and stare at each other across the table? There is no point. It’s a waste of time and resources.
