Fastest Weapon?

I love doing fast damage and am just wondering what the fastest weapon would be. I alternate between using the insect glaive and the katana. Any other suggestions?

Dual Blades have many fast multi-hit attacks with a great amount of mobility

I think the fastest melee weapon is dual blades. I think the ranged weapons can be faster with the right builds but not sure.

Dual blades, sword and shield, and insect glaive are the fast melee hitters.

Fastest as in fastest attack speed or fastest movement?

Dual Blades are the former, while LBG, IG, Hammer, and critdraw GS are all good choices for the latter.

Sword and Shield as if you do circle slashes by constantly facing a new direction and attacking, the DPS is rediculous and you can prettymuch hop out of an attack anytime you want.
Dual Blades are fast, but if you commit to a demon flurry in demon mode, you're stuck in it for at least 2-3 seconds.
