When I saw the armors on offer, oh is this all of it? Game launched with 2 elder dragons. I thought this was hilarious. I was just surprised stuff like Almudron and Magnamalo aren't elder dragons. Magnamalo's a pretty harder fight than the others and I was very surprised when you could trap it.
I thought it was the Teostra replacement. They're not even regular elder dragons, they're 'event' elder dragons. And one of em feels like a Nier Automata fight where you jumped through aoe attacks or wirebugged out of danger while you shot its weakpoints.
Rise armors don't have more slots than High rank, they're about the same. The difference is, there are high rank pieces like Rathalos that you build off of, so outside of having wex and crit, you can also build for con or polish and then you had yourself a nice little elemental set. You can build off of Zorah Magdaros or Xenojiva, there's a lot you could play with armorwise. In Rise, its simpler. It's just 1 flat resistance bonus and the passives are now skills you can gem in like Magnamalo's. There are exceptions to the rule like Anja coil or Valk set which is basically just an empty set you customize.
Updating the game (ED update) actually made it 'feel' more like a launch title. You finally got WEX decos, a reward for completing all the village quests, freedom from spio coil, etc. From what I've been reading, MH RIse was rushed out the door to meet with Capcom's fiscal deadline. It unlocked the missing elder dragons along with the missing decos. I'm not about to give them a pass for releasing the game and then planning to complete it later.
RE: Melding Tickets. Oh excuse me. Here's the item I actually meant- the thing you exchange gems for.
Sigh. https://monsterhunterworld.wiki.fextralife.com/Gold+Wyverian+Print
I only remember saving those for Anja gems. Would have been REALLY nice to have em in Rise so I wouldn't have to farm 20 Magnamalos to get 1 purple orb.
RE: Set bonuses: i thought set bonuses were a great idea. They let you build around a fixed thing I'm glad World ran with them to the nines. Rise also has armor set bonuses (actual ones like Magnamalo) but the slot requirement makes them prohibitively expensive to build off of. I'd rather have them around along with this 'free form'. The choice shouldn't be binary. i'd rather move morea features, not less. Diversify not simplify.
I don't really understand the joke: Monster Investigator. If you're a big fan of hunting the same monster again and again until it drops the gem or plate, then good for you. I stopped farming magnamalos a long ass time ago because it got boring. Hell Tukoda understood this and thats why you got gold prints in case you were having a hard time getting a thing you want to drop.
Tempered Hunts, Great Hunts: Current endgame in Rise is basically farming the same 3 apex monsters for lazurite, going on zenny runs in the caverns, then running out of melding fodder and running 1-2 rampages. That's it. Maybe you run Teostra or Tigrex to get the fangs or something, or you get stuck with something stupid like a gem and then you're basically hunting that monster until it takes pity on you because again, there are no gold wyverian prints.
Tempered hunts at least offered variety. You could run Threat 2's if the rewards were nice, similar drop tables but faster to do, Threat 3's if it was someething you were good at, or for variety, Nergi and Vaal, Kushala if you're a hammer main, Odo, Rathalos, Diablos, as long as you had 3 or more boxes. If you needed zenny you could do a mining run, or use a lucky voucher and run a great hunt. instant 100k zenny for 15 minutes of work.
Rise is the same, but you can hunt ALL monsters.
Again, if we got investigations or wyverian prints, the game will end even FASTER than those 300 hours you spent on the game lmao.
Rise isn't even completed yet, ofc we're going to also be able to "complete" the game in 3 days or so,
We can ALSO finally skip the cutscenes ffs, the thing ppl still complain about MHW/IB til this day
And set bonuses.
And melding tickets.
Christ.
Sorry I don't understand what you're trying to say. Dyou mean like all Rise monsters are farmed in the endgame? Is this your point? Because that's not true. Endgame MHR is Lazurite farming and melder fodder.
I've fought about 60 Magnamalos and gotten a grand total of 3 purple orbs. That means I get a yield of 1 purple orb per 20 monster hunts. This isn't endgame stuff mind you, this is just to make the weapon. If the point you're trying to make is wyverian prints will make the game worse because it will 'end the game faster' then I think it's a stupid premise.
RE: Tempered hunts and whatever:
Sorry, dyou actually play MHR? Dont you get sick of farming the same 3 apex monsters and the ocassional rampage? Dyou seriously prefer farming 20 megnamalos just to get 1 purple orb or 10 Narwa's just to get 1 gem? This is your opinion? Serious question.
Would it blow your mind if I told you I got 2 purple orbs in 1 hunt?
No I did the same. I got 2 orbs from one hunt (1 from the palico and one from partbreak). Thats where I used up all my luck. My understanding here is, the wyverian prints were sort of an equalizer in case RNG screwed you over. This is an especially salient point since Rise doesnt have gold boxes or lucky vouchers. Just great luck passives which would mean sacrificing 3 level 3 slots or running a great luck set.
Conversely its entirely possible to figh 60 Magnamalos and not get a single orb.
1% reward chance, 3% capture chance, 3% from head breaks, 1% if you're dumb enough to carve the body instead of capturing, 3% from the tail, 1% from drop.
It's almost like rare items are rare or something
I think your problem (aka wanting Wyverian prints in Rise) stems from the fact that you "beat" Rise in 3 days. That's...unhealthy to say the least, but it also likely contributed to your frustration of not getting what you wanted.
I work outside. Finshing Rise wasn't even that hard. From all accounts Rise is the easiest Monster hunter to date. Possibly the shortest? I was doing that in between work shifts. its almost as if Rise is on a console that doubles as a handheld. In all honesty the wyverian prints are for people who work and don't have time to kill so many monsters for a chance at a single drop.
You'd know that if you had a job or went outside.
Complaining about drop rates because you're accustomed to the stupid tickets is just pathetic.
In the end, all you're going for is just decos
And JFC, can you not read? Rise IS NOT FINISHED.
Update 3 is the end of the story for base Rise, at least thats what they said.
Atm, we don't know whats going to happen and who or what they're going to bring to the table.
Those "JFC! I JUST NEED ONE MORE SCALE!" and "AGH! YOU B*TCH! YOU STOLE MY GEM!!!!!! GAHAHA!" Was the enjoyable times
