But the events are on and off, so do what ever
Some events are the endgame content , like doing fatalis or alatreon more than once is possible only trough events.
Some have drop rates for rare materials, others just give bonus hunter rank
And some won't say it, but have garanteed rare endemic life spawns, those you'll need to look up on a case by case basis, only matters if you care to collect all the rare endemic life though :)
Some is the easiest way to farm decos or Great Spiritvein Gems or fossil fuel.
Some has greatest likelihood of gold crowns. The ones with specific regions and 5 monsters and description saying they're doing it for research. Some guarantee gold crowns, like Farewell to Zinogre, guarantees mini or giant.
Some guarantee rare animal spawn. Like Tempered Rajang quest, the one that says "INSPIRATION!" in the description. Aside from giving you Gold Spring Macaque helmet, it also guarantees to spawn one Gold Spring Macaque on the map. The quest giver mistook the Rajang for Gold Spring Macaque, but it turns out one spawns for real. Skyward Sniper guarantees to spawn Downy Crakes on one of the Grandfather Managrel. Etc.
Events are the only way to fight AT Elsa, Fatalis and Alatreon once you beat their special assignment.
