Good allround switch axe build
I am on look for a good all around switch axe build for general gameplay. I don't own iceborne as writing this. If anyone got a good suggestions comment below :-)
with allround build i mean something I can grind for thjat will good for all round for all types of hunts. doesn't need to be perfect meta but just something that works great all round. Iceborne suggesnts is also welcome

Jagras Raider II has sleep (free element) + KO from its exhaust phial
Barroth Grinder III for paralysis if you don't have the taroth axe paralysis from Kulve
Empress Axe Ruin if you don't want to use the cheat defender gear but do want to have high raw + blast

I am still new to MHW so it started me with defender gear (I only have 50 hours or so so far) So kinda lost in what to use in terms of switch axe builds. I will take the your suggestens into account
Lunastra Ruin, Deviljho and Diablos Swaxes were pretty good in base game, alongside some Kjarr ones. But since Defender outshines them in every aspect, no reason not to use it.
And for Iceborne you can throw all other switch axes outside of Fatalis into the trash bin.

So just stick with defender gear until iceborne?

Pretty much, depends on you though.

Well, that is until Op gets to Fatalis

yes you can stick with defender SA until iceborne, you just need add health augument on it, as for set i think is better you search arch tempered monster set, such as AT teostra or behemoth.

To clarify, as OP is new, you can only get augmentations after getting to HR50+.

Oh really? That explains why I couldn't find it in the game

Iirc, should be right after you get a gleaming streamstone or a weapon streamstone
Pretty sure Luna Blaze is technically the meta choice as far as Lunastra axes go, assuming you don't have access to claw. MM is dead in HR so you can't hit 100% affinity with Ruin anymore without claw.
Just go with Defender really. Not many reasons not to.

Base game into iceborne endgame for me the order was: defender > mechanical lumu > guild palace cleaver > mechanical lumu II > royal titan axe > lightbreak > fatalis.
