Item bar sorting?

Okay so I know about sorting the items in your bar, but is there a way to also rearrange where the special items go? Like placing the EZ Max Potions and First-aid Med+ where I want them?

You gotta do the sort when you have those items during a hunt. When you save your item loadout afterwards it’ll remember that sorting.

I don't think so no. Same with the palico gadgets and mantles, they like to shift around if you change them.

If you sort these temporary items while you have them on a hunt the game will remember that and save it. I always have my first-aid med+ next to my mega potions for example.

I did notice that the item bar can change it's order somewhat randomly so you have to manually adjust it sometimes. You can also save your item loadouts when interacting with your chest or camp which should save your current item bar order as well.

How do I do it? I already picked up the supply items from the box and went to camp to rearrange their order, but when I do, they don't show up in the item bar

Not true, they will always stay where you put them because it doesn’t matter what your cat has its always something like “cat ability 1”, “cat ability 2”, “cat ability 3” (if they have it).

How do I do it? I already picked up the supply items from the box and went to camp to rearrange their order, but when I do, they don't show up in the item bar

Oops, I just found it. I had to go to the Item Pouch in the start menu to arrange the supply items BEFORE I go to camp. Haha, silly me. Anyway, thanks.

Can't really remember now. I've just noticed sometimes that gadgets and mantles sometimes got rearranged. I guess I could have selected a loadout that I hadn't sorted.
