What do you consider an Easy Mode Weapon?
Seriously...I am a Bow Main and I have been experimenting with the Insect Glaive. To be honest that weapon is just not my style but after testing out the Glaive I have on solo hunts with monsters I have come to believe that the Insect Glaive is a very easy weapon to master. I can see the appeal as it gives you a way of mounting monsters without ledges. But more importantly the Kinsect is massively overpowered with what it can do. If the Insect Glaive did not have the Kinsects I don't feel it would be half as effective as it is with them. I see Insect Glaive as pretty much a beginner weapon that new players can easily learn how to use. Now then, I'm curious to see what you believe is an Easy Mode Weapon in this game. Me, I also think that Longsword is a close second.

The only easy mode weapons are shield HGB and sticky LBG. Even then it is only certain playstyles with those weapons. The rest require practice and skill.
all weapons are easy mode, a true hunter kills a monster with only small barrel bombs

seriously, topics like this are dumb

Greatsword is easy because true charged slash is extremely powerful and Iceborne made it even more powerful, and gave you a new shortcut to your strongest move. if that's somehow still too hard for you there's the frostcraft crit draw build.

long sword is easy because it has a simple moveset overall and foresight slash dodges attacks, and now spirit helmbreaer isn't a buggy mess that hits inconsistent amounts of times on random parts of the monster like it used to

dual blades are easy because they're one of the only weapons that hit often enough to overcome the generally mediocre elemental hitzones monsters have in World

hammer is easy because it has busted motion values on a lot of attacks in addition to being an impact weapon and flinching monsters more easily, on top of a super simple moveset and the new power buff

hunting horn is easy because now you don't need to rememorize your entire song list every time you make a new hunting horn and iceborne gave it one of the most overpowered moves in the entire game, and it's going to get even easier with Rise

lance is easy because World has the best iteration of lance so far, with very precise control over counters and being able to change their directions, on top of massive improvements to mobility. imagine having to backhop towards a monster because forward hop doesn't even exist

gunlance is easy because long shelling is dumb, and ignores any trash hitzones the monster might have, and it has one of the highest damage combos in the game against an incapacitated monster

switch axe is easy because of the amped sword state and zero sum discharge being significantly more powerful, on top of general improvements to axe mode

charge blade is easy because the guard points are more forgiving and consistent than they used to be, you can SAED without losing shield charge, and savage axe is extremely busted

insect glaive is easy because you can vault over monster attacks as long as the hitbox doesn't include an entire invisible monster above it (see: diablos in World, mitsuzune in Rise demo) and world's kinsect is powerful enough that people have killed alatreon with only a kinsect, because get stick bugged lol

bow is easy because.. actually, nah, this is one of the harder weapons to play because the critical distance does not let you get very far from the monster, especially once you are using close range coatings. and gunner defense is garbage. and it is extremely stamina and skill intensive, and there is no mega dash juice to solve that in World, dash juice only reduces stamina usage a bit instead of giving you infinite stamina like it used to.

light bowgun is easy because the step dodge and slide have a lot of i frames, you get rapid fire elemental when that's good, and sticky spam when the monster has trash hitzones with evading reload

heavy bowgun is easy because it makes the best use of pierce and spread ammo on top of being able to get a shield as stable as a lance shield that you just look at a monster to use
The Longsword, easy combo's, straightforward mechanics, generous iframes on a lot of moves and it has a very long reach.
The spirit gauge is a fairly easy mechanic as well without any of the more complicated aspects such as the CB's vials or the GL's shells.
The LS is the most popular weapon for a reason and it is the go to weapon for most new players.

There are other weapons that can be relatively easy but getting to that stage requires a decent build and some preparation. The LS does not require any of that.
The LBG and the HBG can become extremely easy to use but that requires decent gear and a basic understanding of the ammo types and crafting them. Therefore I do not consider them to be as easy as the LS as they can be a bit difficult when starting out.

The DB's are a very straightforward weapon when starting out but once you hit MR it becomes a bit more difficult to use them due to the faster attacks that most monsters have so you have to continously dodge and counterattack to keep the momentum going.
I still consider it to be one of the easier weapons overal as it's combo's aren't all that difficult but the LS is still easier to use and learn in my opinion.

I definetly consider the LS to be the easiest weapon in the game to learn, use and master.

Weebsword and all ranged weapons.
LS is far from the easiest weapon. That's why 90% of LS users don't know how to use it properly, even in MR and are usually the ones who cart. LS is popular because it is flashy, not because it is easy.
People only say weapons are easy because they know how to use them.
I could say lance is easiest as it is my main, but others would disagree and can't grasp how to use it.

HH to me seems like a really complicated weapon to use. Managing buffs and keeping up attacking seems like a right chore. Others would pick it up easy.

The easiest weapon is subjective.
hmm.
longsword is easy to GET INTO. but very hard to actually master and be effective with. especially on a constantly moveing target.

for easiest i would say :

bowguns. no contest here. especially sticky and spread 3. they require some preplanning to recraft ammo at most.

anything with a shield. stupid easy to play and blocking negates a ton of monsters even lategame. not as easy as bowguns given againist certain monsters blocking is simply a bad idea (monkey chan and raging metadios for example)

granted i did not play ALL weapons. but everything else i played felt alot harder than the above 2 categorys.
Def agree with the IG idea, switch axe is a pretty good go to. I honestly think its better than charge blade. Because CB needs a big skill set and a lot of mastery. It urges you to switch to axe mode after like 5 mins of sword. Whereas SA you can use axe the entire fight, no one cares. Or you could use sword the entire fight, and once again the game could not care at all. The only skill I've needed to get with SA is dodging and timing attacks right
Depends, but with most weapons and/or playstyles you atleast need to know some of the monster's moves that you are facing.
With Shield HBG spread 3 and Sticky LBG you dont, with the exception against Fatalis and maybe Alatreon.

But me Hammer, me smash. Hammer easy and dumb. Smash monster in face till its as dumb as me. Dumb monster, favourite monster. Bam Bam.

Sticky is better monster dumb maker, but sticky no bonk. I like bonk.
IG and lance. IG easier to outspace monster attack with vault then do downward thrust to start combo. Lance just facetank everything.
Sticky bowgun is ultimate easy mode
Gunlance, coming from a person that loves to use Gunlances.
It just trivializes the game, and it's what I pick whenever I just wanna have fun. You can just ignore monster armor, block through everything and even has a great barrel wakeup.

Honestly, World becomes a really easy game if you just learn to completely disregard kill timer and just build full defensive.
longsword

any gun with sticky ammo

greatsword

maybe hammer too

honestly anything that requires you make a set to use efficiently is harder to learn/use than other weapons by default. and yet this includes IG and DB because you aren't going to do much with them without a real element build lol
also @ people who say "[weapon] is harder in MR because monster moves more": oh you poor, poor people lmao

long sword is easy to pick up and play but hard to master and scales badly in MR compared to ranged and shield weapons due to spastic monster move sets with it being slower with no defence except foresight slash which is easy to learn but hard to pull off effectively and consistently IMO. HBG is by far the easiest.

hammer very easy
I also first thought like you but I wouldn't call it a beginner weapon because isn't as easy as it first seems. Beginners - by this I mean people who are totally new to the MH series, can't really time their hits and will have a hard time with the IG, because jumping around at high speeds while trying to hit the monster will result in confusion as the person will not be able to follow the camera and will also land hits very wrongly doing not much damage, especially if they are unable to give their kinsect a red gauge. The IG is also a weapon that benefits from elemental damage, but most people will go with status effects, render it quite weak.

You also have to refill your kinsect with other colors, so you have to know where to hit the monster to collect the extracts by hitting the monster while it moves and you have to do it fast and rightly or lose time and dps, and that takes training and knowledge.

You have to feed slinger shots to your Kinsects so they do double damage and that takes time also. Jumping over Monsters often does not really work, as a Diablos for instance will just run into you and make you fall. One also needs to use the clutch claw twice to get a part tenderized.

I think that the Long Sword or Hammer are much more beginner friendly as they are not as hectic and feature a pretty intuitive attack style, while the IG feels easy for people who have already mastered a weapon, because it makes evading seem so much easier against easy monsters.
