Recommended Armor & Weapon for SnS Hunters vs Velkhana
I've completed the first Velkhana Assigned Quest, but I'm yet to complete its next two Assigned Quests and I wanted to be more prepared than before.

I've fought Velkhana just now and it's my first time. I brought the Tigrex Armor (with Ice Res and Expert Jewels equipped) for Speed Eating and Attack Boost, Glavenus Razor for Fire damage, Attack Charm III for extra Attack, and the Temporal and Rocksteady Mantles for additional protection and alertness.

It took me 10-15 minutes to finish the Quest because I have to pay attention with whether or not Velkhana is enraged before toppling it with a Flinch Shot.

According to the guide, it has a lot of AOE attacks. Its ice can only be blocked by Guard Up too

As a SnS user myself, I was thinking about which Equipment should I bring the next time I fought Velkhana. Here's mine:

Armors:
- Tigrex (Speed Eating, Attack Boost, Earplugs, Free Meal)
- Shrieking Legiana (15 Ice Resistance, Evade Extender, Focus, Critical Draw, Marathon Runner)
- Rathalos (5 Ice Resistance, Attack Boost, Fire Attack, Weakness Exploit).

Weapons:
- Glavenus Razor (White Sharpness)
- Blue Corona (20 Affinity & White Sharpness)
- Lohensieger (High Base Damage)
- Donnersieger + (10 Affinity)

I'll keep farming for more offense-based Decos (Attack, Weakness Exploit, Critical Eye, etc.) for now. Any suggestions and recommendations are welcome. Feel free to reply.

Normal velkh is not that hard , you can do her by just getting what you feel comfy with.
If you get hit alot use tigrex for free meal on the max potions.
If you are good with avoiding attacks you can use shierking or rath or whatever attack skills you can fit.
Velkhana isn't that hard to avoid , just keep close and watch out for the tail.

And use etheir Glavenus Razor or Blue corona

You want 100% affinity and critical boost, attack boost should be avoided unless you already have maxed agitator and can't fit anything else.

Hit her in the head until she falls over then hit her in the head some more.

i can only give advice regarding how to face velkhana since i never use sns
- you can clutch her to avoid her AOE when she try to float doing downward ice breath
- her sweeping breath can be iframe dodge easily by doing a roll to direction where the sweeping breath from
- her tail thrust is dangerous but easily dodgeable by doing timing roll sideway
- good position to face velkhana is next to her front leg, you can reach head or hit arm easily there
its been a while since the last time i play mhw so my advice might not relevant anymore

oh yeah bring Max Potion and it's ingredients as much as possible. bring attack boost items(even better bring might pill since sns can use items on the go. use it when velk down). no need to hoards items
