After I get use to use light bowgun, it got much easier. So I guess it's better to use at least 2 kind of weapons from swordfighter group and shooter group.
and even then sometimes i miss 2 hits at an inopportune moment and have to deal with his annoying MR wind aura for the rest of the entire bloody fight man what the hell up with that
But rage x10 if the party somehow missed flashing him when he's near death and about to gooooooooo back up to his nest in elder recess.
its just a bit of an annoyance when im using hammer as my third weapon. just equip 3 parts of kushala set and you wont be too much bothered by the shield. you will loose DPS but that means you will do more chains of damage rather than waiting for a shieldless opening. if you want more challenge for ranged units go for spread it is a hard and gureling fight for HBG.
relying on Blinding is not a sure thing for tempered , arch tempered or master rank since fighting it in grinding lands solo is a long fight. but mastering is move set is more efficient on countering it. it is very predictable specially when you are using ranged weapons because you are seeing its animations more fluidly.
having a lot of survivability skills so that you can cross counter the monster works as well its just that you may have to drown it in potions.
there used to be a mod way back in vanilla making a super nergigante with kirin lightning strikes, juratodus mud lunastra nova and kushala shield. that drops bazel scales. it was next to impossible but i miss that guy since he dose not use a map wide kill attack just pure brute force skills that kills you if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time.
in case you need help and im free ill help ...as long as its not fatalis, hate to run it with SoS
...no I don't particularly like fighting Kushala if I can help it but now and again I will willingly run into HR hunts in response to SOS calls. Carrying a giant Rajang horn doubling as bongos. Playing the song of my people while smacking Kusha around.
I'm not sure how effective it is but you could try using Elderseal, it doesn't seemed to be talked about a lot but in previous games, if Kushala was not poisoned, it was a very painful fight, Elderseal is worlds replacement of that mechanic and if you're hating the fight, reducing Kushala's abilities could make things more bearable
Now, not so much.
