I think normal teostra/investigate is better because it is faster in general.

I fought teostra in 12-8min (I slow) but the event took me around 20-15 min.

Teostra Investigations. Only need to hunt 1 monster and better chance with rewards

The best way of getting them is by playing investigations with silver or gold rewards, your palico can steal gems from elder dragons using his plunderblade and is actually very common for it to happen

Start a Teostra investigation with at least 1 gold reward. That gold reward will have a 13% chance of it being a gem. Equip your Palico with plunderblade and level up the tool. Pluderblade has a 1% chance of stealing a gem off a monster. You have a 3% chance for a gem from a tail carve. Breaking his horns has a 2% chance to reward a gem and each carve you get has a 2% chance of carving off a gem. Good luck.

Just sos the code red. If your struggling with investigations. I've been running them in about 10mins and I'm getting a bunch of gems from all 4.

Gold reward investigations are still the best. But it's about how fast you can do them.

Silver rewards have a 6 or 7% chance for a gem as well.

Do high rank non-tempered Teostra investigations with gold reward(s).

In any case, make sure you break the horns and cut the tail.

Use the plunderblade on your palico.
