What is the best greatsword for Elementless jewel?

I got a lvl 2 one from a tempered Rathalos hunt and I know they're quite rare. I'm currently using Anguish which is the Deviljho GS and unfortunately it has dragon element so the jewel doesn't fit. Is there a better GS I can be using to maximize the potential of this gem?

Whatever has the highest damage, since you’re not taking advantage of elemental damage, you want to get as much raw damage as possible then add more with elementless. Usually high raw weapons have negative affinity to balance it so you might want to also build to alleviate that

Wyvern Ignition “Impact” has the highest damage with 1008, after that there’s Barroth Shredder and Great Wyvern Jawblade with 960

I unfortunately did not get it. Only bought the game a month-ish ago and wasn't home when they surprise dropped the Autumn festival again :(

However, am I misunderstanding what this gem does? I thought that it only applies to weapons that don't have an element, like a lot of the diablos weapons. The Wyvern Ignition has fire element attached, so if I use it with Anguish which has dragon, would the gem ignore the element and still give me the 10% raw damage boost?

you'll get it again they cycle events rather quickly. they'll probably have a winter one soon

Quick look on MHW Wiki (I’m on my phone not in game) it looks like Wyvern Ignition “Impact” has the highest raw with 1008. After that there’s Barroth Shredder and Great Wyvern Jawblade with 960 raw

Am I misunderstanding what this gem does? I thought that it only applies to weapons that don't have an element, like a lot of the diablos weapons. If the gem works with the Wyvern Ignition which has fire element attached, should it not work on Anguish which has dragon? Would the gem ignore the element and still give me the 10% raw damage boost anyways?

There are weapons with hidden elements that will be greyed out, it needs to be unlocked with the Free Elem/Ammo Up skill. Until then they don’t have an element and will benefit from Elementless

Wyvern Ignition has hidden elemental so as long you don't have any Free Element unlock on your gear then the weapon will list at none element.

Fire element on WI is hidden and won't activate without the skill. For all intents and purposes, it is "elementless" unless you have Free Element skill slotted or are wearing an armor piece that activates the hidden element.

Wyvern Ignition "Impact"

An element stat with ( ) means it is hidden.

To unlock an element stat with ( ), you need Free Element skill.

So, as long as your armor does not have that skill on, Wyvern Ignition "Impact" is a elementless weapon and the Elementless Jewel will work on it.

Ahhh the fire element is hidden, I didnt know that. Makes sense why everyone uses it cuz that sounds crazy broken lol. Well, at least I have the gem now so I wont have to worry about finding it once I actually get my hands on the Wyvern Ignition. Thanks everyone!

While it is got quite high raw, I'm pretty sure jho gs won't be affected by elementless jewel
