Besides, this game has a ton of accommodation in terms of camera and aim adjustment. Compared to older games, this one's a heaven. There's no un-ergonomic camera controls anymore. Monsters are exhilarating too. It's just so much better when you don't have to fight camera controls rather than monsters. The game is hard in the right place.
Also, a big part of this process involves getting REALLY frustrated by the wonky af Clutch Claw.
Also rather than trying to get controls like first gen, I rather recommend you to get used to the new controls; If you often played 3D action games like Devil May Cry, Dark Souls, Dragon Dogma, Dynasty Warrior or pretty much all those current MMORPG (Warframe, FFXV, etc), things are not that really hard.
Fatalis is the hardest in MHW atm tho by official tags. So don't expect to solo it straight just by unlocked it. Heck, you may even need 100 - 200 more ranks than the unlocking requirement before you can start fight it with ease, not beating it yet.
By the time we got to G rank though, we got too burnt out and the next game was coming out already (western release of the Ultimate versions were too close)

It doesn't look that bad for a 2004 game, I wonder if there's a way to play the original game.
And let me introduce you to THE CLAW and no, I don't mean grappling claw we have here.
