Monster drops lost if not picked up?
As per title, I was wondering what happens to the white drops you can actively pick up?
I had an in-fight of Legiana and Pink Rathian and like 4-5 parts where dropped by them attacking each other. I did not immediately pick them up and followed the Rathian for story progression. When I returned to their "arena", the drops where gone...are they automatically added to the loot pool or lost if not manually picked up?

TLDR; if white monster part drops are not picked, are they lost when leaving the area?

yes, the ground absorbs them and they are gone forever into the void

You don't even need to leave the area. I've had them despawn before my very eyes.

Yeah you have to collect them even during fights. Stupid design choices to increase the grind.

I dont get the idea why u have a palico with u all the time that cannot pick up the materials monsters drop, that should be an actual feature - for sure not completely free. U have to keep ur palico happy with food etc. which costs something so that he does not lose interest in picking up items.

Dont know why this is not in the game yet. :(

Wait until you get to The Guiding Lands. Some very intelligent person at Capcom decided to make shinies disappear even faster there.

200 IQ move right there.
