I bet it reminds you of those hosts that run from one end of the arena to the other during Alatreon fight. =)
I'm sure you misspelled Yu. How's it going, Ember?
And yes, at that point its less about saving the host from Alatreon, its more about saving the Host from himself.
Feels good to not play alongside palicoes in this game kekw.
(to be clear to me playing without Palico isn't a challenge but a preference and what weapon you use. I just prefer KNOWING and playing with the monster aggro being consistent because switch axe compared to other weapons kinda suck maneuvering long distances when the Palico or other players decide to drag the monster away from me. I do kinda think being able to hunt without Palico helps at being a slightly better hunter though (knowing how to handle being aggro'd at all times is a good skill to have. and what consumables to help with that )
Actually it's for the better: while palico can help as distraction or if you need to sharpen your weapon, the trade off is worse, as being able to have the full aggro of the monster helps massively with aiming at certain parts (usually the head aside for certain exceptions), which really help any HH, hammer or GS users.
The only real deal for me with palico is the plunderer gardget: with that I was able to get rubies or mantles which is nothing to sneeze off, but hunts take a bit longer due to the monsters following the cat.
This time around I'm definitely targeting specific pieces more and even with my flailing I see the difference in being able to pull the monster and set up more jump attacks, etc. and targeting specific areas.
not because i need him, i can solo fatty without my palico.
BUT BECAUSE HE MY HOMIE AND YOU DONT TURN YOUR BACK ON YOUR HOMIE!
In Iceborne I find the palicos too useful to give up, even considering the wonky monster AI they sometimes cause.
Remember the 1st scene when you reached astera and met your palico after the ship sink?
Remember your palico hugging you (not the deviljho beside you) after the narrow death escape? yeah....me neither.
YES! This!
