You're kinda reading a little too far into this. Aiden and Julius are from a previous game (MH4). It's just referencing that and bringing some continuity. Any romantic relationships you see or might read about are entirely fan speculation (including your own).
I mean your character is what you make of it, but the story characters? Lmaaaoooo no man, this aint no EA or Blizzard.
Go watch the Monster Hunter Netflix mini movie and you will see what kind of relationship Julius and Aiden have.
But as Treble said , japanese entertainment in general didn't seems to care about those trends at all .
Sometimes it's just good to enjoy a simple escapism , no politics , no ideology no polarization , and playing MH is just giving me that
your statement makes no sense
good old times of the hollywood code, as white actors played any other ethnicity in hollywood.
gene roddenberry already wanted to implement gay couples into the first star trek series, but the time wasn't right for it and the producer said no.
some people would even go so far and blame anime for turning their kids into weebo weaklings
meanwhile onnagata(men who played female roles) already existed in old traditional japanese theatre.
looks like there are still too many insecure male out there who can't accept a little bit wierdness in media
it is like "al bundy" vs "modern family", while I enjoyed both shows.
