Monster Hunter: World

So its agreed that MHW is the best MH game of all time right?
Amongst gamers of course.

i think they will replace tempered with something new in iceborne and i like how you only point out the number of monster part but ignore the last part of my comment, more monster doesn't mean it's a better game.
MHGU has the more monster than 4U but it is the worse game of the two.
'm sure when it's all said and done iceborne quality>MH4U and MHGU quantity
4U being better then GU is ENTIRELY subjective. Just like iceborne will be.

But lets take a look at the things iceborne will have to do to even come close:

Weapon and armor designs
Difficulty
Content(not timed stuff like AT's either)

It has to touch on those, and hard to even come close.

Other things to note:

LBG has no internal ammo, which was silly to remove.
Scout flies will still be awful.
Lack of cool cut scenes like 4U had
Lack of tons of variety like GU had(styles and arts really hammer this in), not a huge deal though

And these are just the issues off the top of my head. 4U will likely remain my favorite regardless of what iceborne throws in, because it is just an overall solid game with solid progression, and a lot of cool stuff to it. Quality of life changes do not inherently make a better game.
"quality of life changes do not inherently make a better game" yes if you want to stay in a dinosaur era gameplay from nintendo game.
the QOL from MHW is badly needed changes from MH series because some thing from the past that got erased from MHW is just straight up annoying.like having to fill up your pouch with pickaxe to mine or bring net to catch bug, bringing whetstone and monster material being in the same bag as item making bag full of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ a commonplace or combining that can fail and ends up wasting your material and posing like a jojo character after drinking potion.
the weapon design part i agree it was bad, but from the iceborne picture from the 4 hunters i'm sure master rank will get rid of that, the difficulty is subjective because from the past some of it is just artificial difficulty from bad hitboxes, mhw still has it but not as bad before for the most part.
"lack of coolcutscene" highly disagree, teostra, nergigante, kushala, behemoth intro is better than cutscene from previous game because of it's effect imo

Almost fully agree, but it lacks content compared to Generations Ultimate

auliaindra99 eredeti hozzászólása:
for now it is debatable because of mhw lack of content.
but after iceborne it is going to be undisputed imo.
i believe we will be getting at least 15 more monster with more coming as a free dlc later, reasons i believe so it is because when iceborne come out in fall it will be almost 2 years since mhw was released in january 2018, so plenty of time to be adding monsters and subspecies, and base MHW by comparison was developed for around 3 years.
we will be fighting current monster in their master rank form(except maybe behemoth and leshens) so potentially 45+ monsters to hunt in the expansion, much lower compared to the likes of MHGU sure. but the QOL and even more coming to iceborne as promised by capcom and much better graphic give them the edge over other MH IMO
Youre a brainlet if you think you can compare a non-Ultimate game to an Ultimate game; World has the most monsters of any non Ultimate game except for 4 (not 4 Ultimate, 4), but 4 had a lot of reskins;

Ice borne will not make it the undisputed best at all.

Tempereds will still be a bad difficulty increase, and the way a lot of the game works compared to old games still feels not great.

45 is the lowest any game has had since 4. 4U had over 70, gen had nearly 90 if I recall right.
Tempereds are better than crappy Frenzy and Apex; Also, youre a brainlet if you can compare it Gen, when Gen literally reused the exact same content from 3rd Gen onward because all assets were on the same engine

MH3 had the best Online Hub ever in MonHun
I vehemently disagree with this. I'll take world's gathering hub over that ugly brown city any day of the week.

Loc Lac was designed by an MMO team, and even had customizable houses that others could visit; whats the point of having your own home in World if no one can visit

I remember the houses. I also remember intentionally avoiding anything except the exchange npc and the guild girl room simply because I couldn't stand how much running was involved to get places.

I'll take the P3rd hotsprings any day.

You really cant compare MH that easily; MH2 was the best Gen 2 game cause it had a lot of just silliness to it that was lost in 2G and FU; MH3 had the best Online Hub ever in MonHun, 3U had the best content for Underwater, P3rd had the best progression; GenU is the best 4th Gen game due to it actually kissing upon Frontier-like mechanics, like crazy strong armor skills, Super Deviants, and anime as hell fights like Atahl Ka and Valstrax; World honestly just cleans everything up really well, and introduces new systems to old mechanics

Inb4 4U big ♥♥♥♥♥ come in and defend the trashiness of 4U's end game
yeah i wasnt a fan of RNG armor, i DID like the monster difficulty scaling though for those extra quests, but not trying to farm them to make super ruinic armor and weapon sets.

though i guess we still technically do that in MHW just with Decorations.
I have little experience with the series, disliked FU because of controls (even with 2nd stick on emulator or vita), liked 3U SP (except that BS sand whale) and i wanted to like 4U but controls, again...

I really loved MHW last year but now seldom like it, i lost interest with crap "new" content such as arch elder dragons. It is defintiely smooth to play compared to the ones i've tried and Iceborne may just make it huge, if there are more than damn wyverns to hunt.

Yeah, a ton of people complain about World's endgame decos, but then praise 4U's endgame, which is objectively worse than 4U's; RNG for what monster you get for a GQ, RNG for what weapon reward it gives, RNG for what armor piece it gives, RNG for what the weapon and armor looks like, RNG for if the armor has deco slots, RNG for what decos appear in said slots, RNG for even getting beshackled relics, then when the monster is finally high enough level, it goes Apex, and you NEED Wystones to do anything during the fight (bouncing off a monster in Sword form was the first time I felt genuine fear in MH), and when the Wystones run out you just sit there for a few minutes, they were awful;
At least in World, the RNG just falls into: Is it Tempered? Tier 1 2 or 3? (thank god that 2 OR 3 are both useful in their own ways) How many slots? (and god bless the fact you can still get warped stones and Warrior/Hero stones from just two reward slots, RNG just decides how many slots); And thanks to just skill reward, things like time and player count dont really effect things cause you have the option to solo, and rarely do I take longer than 7 minutes on any investigation

Welcome to Monster Hunter, where 90% of the game is Wyverns, enjoy your stay
Here's a short list of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stuff from past games that you won't find in MHW:
> Forced underwater fights.
> Wasting half of your inventory on basic necessities like whetstones, pickaxes, BBQ spit, cool/warm drinks, capture net, fishing rod, fishing spear, paintballs, etc.
> Regularly dumping inventory because you ran out of space in the middle of carving.
> Entering a loading screen every time you move between zones.
> Wandering around aimlessly to find monsters and then needing to repeatedly tag them with paintballs.
> Trying to heal yourself and getting hip-checked from across the zone by a teleporting Plesioth while you're stuck in that ridiculous flex animation.
> Maintaining a stockpile of whetstones and pickaxes because they had limited charges.
> Spending half the game mining for armor spheres.

It's been years since I've played another MH title, and so that's everything that immediately came to mind - feel free to expand on that list :P

Disagree. Tempereds are only a damage modifier, while frenzy actually made them more aggressive and faster. And hyper, while I didn't like it at first, is great outside of the hp scaling, since it makes them faster, changes attack properties a little, as well as hit zones. A simple attack modifier does pretty much nothing.

But regardless, this is all opinions. Iceborne might make it the best for some, but not for others. There is no denying that.

Frenzy literally required you to have an item on timer, with the best pair giving you a total of 3 minutes worth of actual fighting; you never actually grinded Frenzied monsters if you think they were good.

You didn't need to use any item though? You could easily just let them be frenzied and it doesn't change all that much.
