Fashion Hunters Unite!
This is a post for fashion and function. Do have a mixed set or mixed Layered Armor you like with your preferred weapon? What do you call your favorite set? What was the thought process behind your choices?

I'ma call this one Princess Splozions!
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1711021489

My prior build mainly involved various Lunastra pieces and the Vaal arms, but the biggest issue had been my weapons sharpness. Put this together and just really like how it looks. I was concerned the Xeno would be too "grey", but transitioned well into a beige pink.

***Don't post anything that has been modded in any way. If it can't be done legit then it's not the Fashion Hunter way. If you use a piece of gear because it looks nice or if you've actually found a way to make this sub-optimal piece work for you in a hunt then you are a Fashion Hunter. If you use Transmog or modded gear then you're not a Fashion Hunter.

Neat design choice, but we don't talk about modded equipment here. Wearing something for fashion that hinders your build and still being able to hunt in it or just wearing a combo for the sake of taking a screenshot it is one thing, but the Transmog mod and anything that alters how the equipment looks short of Layered Armor options just doesn't belong here.

This just isn't what fashion hunters do. It's only what cheaters do.
Then pretend it's the actual armor, there's literally no difference other than my hair.
If you want to replicate yourself it's just all blossom with tobi waist.

Cheaters? Who am I cheating? The hunt? Rathalos doesn't care what my build looks like. Getting the armor? I already unlocked it legitimately, along with any available layered piece, I can replicate this with layered if I REALLY wanted to.
Other players? What difference does it make to them?

I find your stance silly, accepting of the layered option but if transmog is involved (which is basically what layered armor is, only it allows any armor piece available in the game to be layered because its absurd that that's not already an option), it's cheating because of what seems to be 'muh anti-mod policy'.
What OP is talking about is that fashion hunters use what they are wearing with the additional condition of a nice look.

If what you wear is the actual armor (by pretending it is) then that's not really viable in the endgame because otherwise there will be many people running around in tobi-kadachi waist armor. We can give you the benefit of doubt that the rest are not blossom armor but the blossom layered armor received from killing AT Kirin and getting 2 of the tickets for the delivery.

What OP wants is for the armor sets to be done based on the limits of the game because otherwise this is just as easy as taking any armor pieces, wear them, take a screenshot and post here. Even people in low rank can do that the moment they have fought all the monsters because the set would be unlocked in the workshop. In fact, there isn't even a need to build the armor set or fight that monster even once.

That cheapens the whole effort towards making a viable set that must also look pleasing at the same time.

While you can argue that layered armor does the same but for a fashion hunter to actually get the layered armor, it requires the effort to at least kill the particular AT elder dragon at least twice or once (if super lucky). Whereas, if mods are allowed in the discussion, the only effort required is to download the mod.

Under normal circumstances, a transmog mod wouldn't be as frowned upon as those mods that actually affect drop rates, attack damage, monster HP or anything that basically changes the gameplay to give advantage over others who do not use the mod.

However, in this kind of discussion where the looks is pretty much the key thing and if anybody can just click a button to download a mod and give their armor whatever looks they want, then the only effort needed is to download the game, download the mod, use the mod and post the screenshot. That's not fashion hunting. That's just downloading the game and a mod.

Guild Cross did add a nice "medieval" look that goes well with bows. Also works well with a support SnS, kinda like a Paladin... Palicodin?

Thats a good idea...
What also should have a good look is Kushala Gear with a SnS, to cosplay a ancient Roman Centurio or Kushala Helmet, with Dober / Nergigante with a Lance to cosplay Greek Spartan Warrior... so many good idea's >-<

By transmog, you mean Layered armor, right? Cause using transmog mod would defeat the point of putting effort into looking good

For my Hunting Horn sets I made this mix of Gala, Blossom and Harvest Layered Armor. Went for something "Broadway Flashy".

Yeah. Falling back on old habits about the phrasing of the term from games like WoW. Corrected in OP.

Not sure what weapon to go with this set. Played around with my Crit Draw GS armor and the Deathstinch Layered Armor. I like the bone look, but the sword does look out of place.

I call this one "The Masquerade"
Just a simple mix between the spring blossom and anniversary event armour.
Mostly go with blast switchblade or dual-blades and pairs well with the white color theme.

the beautiful kulve taroth set put to good use for swinging my blade
Kulve gear is always nice if you can make use of it. Kulve b armor was my first SnS build and the one I use for my Guild Card.

AT Xeno gave me the piece I needed to finish my IG set. I'm not an IG main, but I recently got one of the new Kulve IG with Thunder and Crit Element that seems like it'd be great with this set to face her.

Terrible skills and stats, but still put out over 30% dps which I can't complain about

When it comes to actual sets though, can't beat KT and vaal on females.

When I first got the Zorah Magdaros set, I really fell in love with the skirt. Many skirts in the game are stiff and victorian, but the Zorah coil has a nice flowing fabric. On my first character, at first, I dyed it white and built the workshop dual blades to go with the color scheme:

Later in the game I got the Vaal Hazak set, which had vastly superior stats to the Zorah set. For a while I used the full set, but eventually I started to miss the Zorah coil. So this became my fashion:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1540662271

The Zorah skirt is a slight sacrifice in performance, but when using it with the Dragonking Eyepatch and three pieces of Vaal Hazak, it still was a really good defensive set, which I filled with offensive decos for a really survivable balanced build.

Now, in the endgame, I like to use more varied armor sets for different tasks but I just need to have the Zorah coil whenever I play. Fortunately the gamma coil is something of an upgrade. I hide the head armor (or use the Guild Cross layered headpiece if I feel like it), and use the Harvest layered chest and arms. Most leg armor is hidden by the skirt. If I use something that isn't, I layer it up, but mostly the coil is the only reserved slot on my gear and everything else can be switched around.

Once again, gotta sacrifice a bit of stats for the skirt, but hey, gameplay makes much more of a difference than the little bit of stats. I'm not a speed runner. I just LOVE the look:

Lance build using Drachen to bump up to Masters Touch, but used the AT Zorra waist.
