And quit spamming air attacks with insect glaive. It's fun, but the damage output is abysmal compared to red buff on the ground.
If you want to reach his weakpoints with that type of weapon, do what Seamus said, and go for one of his legs, as soon Anjanath drops on the floor, you can go for his nose.
Using bone weapons, maybe try the bow.
then his neck becomes inflamed. this changes tactics. you'll not want to be near the head just after an attack lest you get burned. you'll also need to keep an eye out for a windup and a higher pitched whine as he is about to expel a jet of flame in either a sweep or a straight shot. in either case, dont let that hit you. while hes like this, having puddle pods or whatever that green moss is as slinger ammo, when he finishes a normal attack, hit him in the face with the pods. this will cause a big knock down making him easy to damage for a few seconds.
from there its just learning how to deal with a brute wyvern, theres 2 more with similar fighting styles to meet.
Because if the sharpen metter is yellow it will bounce in certain parts often and do lower damage.
You want to keep almost all the time in green or better, so use wetstones to sharpen.
The Pulsar Bow is the answer to literally everything that breaths fire.
Or water
Or poison.
Or ice.
Or uses the Dragon Element.
Basically, every monster in this game that can't burrow under ground or use electricity itself is weak against electricity lol
Even 3/4 Rathlings have a primary weakness toward Dragon then thunder,
but Azure Rathalos have a Ice as secondary weakness.
Teostra -> Water/Ice
Lunastra -> Ice/Dragon
Zorah -> Water/Dragon
Lavasioth -> Water, thunder as secondary (fire if you want to heat his armor up)
The only two fire monsters who have a primary weakness against thunder are Bazelgeuse and Dodogama
Edit: And monster who are weak toward thunder are
Legiana, Pukei,Tzitzi,Jyura (if he isnt covered in mud), Bazel, Dodogama, Kushala and Nergi
So, no thunder isnt the anwser to all who isnt using thunder
trust in the lance. spartan up, and start your phalanx advance.
This is not the way to play the bow. bow users aren't cheap, and know to have 1 of each element. bow is not like hammer. with hammer, you build Diablos II, and you make smashy on any monster. Bow is not like hammer. Please don't use your bow like a hammer.
try different weapon types to find most suitable for you
But hey, so long as you're using that wiki, maybe you should take a look at the section that says "list of monsters with thunder resistance."
You can literally count them on one hand.
Also, don't try to move the goalposts by implying that primary weaknesses are the only weaknesses worth targeting. A secondary weakness is still a weakness.
If you have to pick between 260 thunder damage or 160 water damage against a monster that has a 3* water weakness and a 2* thunder weakness, thunder damage will work just as well, if not better.
...BTW, you've got over 600 hours logged in this game, so I'm sure you're aware that all of those firebreathers you listed are end-game HR monsters, most of which are found EXCLUSIVELY in Elder's Recess.
What relevance does your point have when the TC still hasn't killed his first Anjanath yet?
Actually, why did you even include Zorah in that list? The only part of him that you actually "fight" are his cores, and it's like shooting fish in a barrel! The lava they spew out can't even reach you if you spam DPs. The only other hazard is Nergi, who actually has Thunder as his primary weakness.
When I hit the same wall you did, I was using full Great Jagras armour and a rarity two bow. After learning its attack patterns from being at range with a bow, switching to Insect Glaive and killing it from the air became ridiculously easy.
It's a matter of trial and error, and you need to avoid the definition of insanity - trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Not to mention it'll become completely useless once he gets to the Coral Highlands.
The Pulsar line can carry you through LR right up until the Diablos fight, and you'll be wanting a Pulsar to farm the Legania parts needed to make a Glacial Arrow to counter Diablos.
