''Preparing...'' takes forever. (Resolved)
As of yesterday, whenever I try to join a quest, the ''preparing...'' message that comes comes before ''Ready to depart.'' does not go away. Until now this has never taken more than a few seconds, but now I have waited up to 10 minutes, but nothing happens. It also happened during a play session. I didn't exit the game before it happened. I have it installed on an SSD.

Anyone know what causes this or have eperienced it?

I have also tried to post a quest myself, and fire an SOS flare. I got one guy who tried to join, but he seemingly was unable as he waited for a while and then withdrew.

EDIT: It works now, but I'm unsure of exactly what solved it. So I'll list everything I did, and hopefully that helps if someone else has a similar issue.

- Restart computer
- Update drivers
- Reset router
- Tried to use less memory, though it works now even if I don't limit it.
- Verify installation

I does, but I have no issue on other games or applications. Do you think reseting the router could work?

It also sometimes happens to me when I have a browser open in the back or anything else that uses too much memory. Do you have anything like that open in the background when this occurs?

I guess I do. I still find it odd that it has never happened before, but I will try to limit other applications. Thank you!:)

If it's suddenly taking a long time to prepare then it might be a connection issue as other users mentioned.
Make sure that there aren't any downloads or programs in the backgrounds that are lowering your network speeds.
It might also be worthwhile to restart your router just in case. Sometimes these issues can be easily fixed with a simple restart.

I hope that this helps solve the issue! :mhwgood:
