Monster Hunter: World
High ranked hunters joining low rank missions?
I'm not complaining, it's actually kind of funny to see a monster that takes me like 10 minutes to kill in my newbie gear get ROFL-stomped in 20 seconds by a high ranked hunter, but how come there are so many? Every low ranked mission tends to get dominated by one or more high ranked hunters that kill the monster in less than a minute each time. I can't imagine it's all too fun? I don't think so anyway. So what's up with that? Is there some incentive for the high level players to join low ranked quests, or do they just enjoy owning monsters? XD

Please and thank you for the responses!

there is a achivment to help low lvl hunters out
and get some vip tickets
You sometimes get a ticket that you can use to meld kulve taroth mantles > and you use the mantles to meld/upgrade weapons

Also easy money
I've always done this even when I was still in Low rank. There is just something about going back to an Assigned mission or Special assignment and helping a SOLO host who shot an SOS 20+ mins ago to no avail. Then in comes the DOOT DOOTs, and other forms of wide-range. Sometimes the super DAKKA if I see they only have 1 cart left. And everytime especially against Kirin in Sterling Pride I always get thanks. Kinda sad that not a single new player I come across enjoys Kirin. I always thought he was such a balanced fight that kept you from over committing. But all in all helping newer players get deeper into content is something I enjoy. After all you never know how long they've been stuck on some of the monsters. I helped someone with Fatalis the other day who was trying to beat him since release and couldn't lol. Their reactions are priceless.
Ah oke, that makes sense. Thanks for the info! I played the game on release, but decided to make a new character this time around since it has been a couple of years and I wanted to go through everything with a fresh new face. So having high ranked hunters carry the game for me is super convinenit. XD
Sometimes I back and do HR events when I just want to chill. Whether I join someone else's SOS or make my own quest depends on my mood.
You know, I just did this for someone facing diablos for the first time, with my new frostcraft dragon piercer build....popped it's tale off in one shot...it's very enjoyable ;D

I'll often just run wide range, buff them, let them fight it out for a couple minutes, then end their adversary xD and give them a couple max potions....if they can figure out how to accept them before the quest timer finishes xD
because i don't know what else to do and yes as some in here said, the event ticket are still drop even you join lower difficulty quest.

and i would gladly kill any khusala and make them extinct.

Some people just do this, which ends up making it harder for them as they are fighting a scaled up monster. Whoever does this, please don't, there is no point really.
Because after you finished getting all the stuff you need, there's not a lot you can do.

Of course, you can also just fight level-appropriate monsters but then those require more concentration and at that point, all you really want is to just hunt so you may choose to go for something easier every now and then to get a quick fix on this urge without too much time and focus needed.

Also, there are pendants craftable plus achievements and golden eggs when you help others lower rank than you. It also feels good when you help someone clear something that used to give you a hard time or was a roadblock.

I usually look for Assignments and Special Assignments to help in since those are roadblocks. If I see a quest that is already over 10 min (no rewards) and there's only 1 or 2 low level in it, I will also just join to help.
I like going back to HR and helping with some event quest that most people would have problems with.
Ancient Leshen and Behemoth needs a reminder that their bullying days are over. Feels great taking them on in Fatalis set.

That's why I only hold back a minute or two :)
Couple of reasons, I guess. The biggest would be for the Pendants you unlock for obtaining a "Lower Ranked Hunter Helper" award, you need like 15, 30 and 60 (or something like that) in total to unlock all three pendants. I think you can earn it even in MR quests now though but it's easier to just help LR / HR players.

You also gain decorations and gold wyverian prints for doing this so it can be a viable resource worth farming, and I also believe during festivals you gain VIP tickets at an increased rate too, but don't quote me on that. You can also find MR players joining LR / HR hunts while wearing the associated Festival set which grants a bigger chance to get VIP tickets in general, with the lame and bad armour set it's a lot safer to just join and mess around in someones LR / HR session.

There's a few achievements and such for joining random SOS hunts and completing them but I doubt any MR player wouldn't have those already from playing in HR though - there's also a few trophies you can earn for your room by joining SOS hunts and obtaining those accolade / title things at the end of a hunt, but no one cares about those lol.

Some people like helping others too, although I wouldn't consider curb stomping a monster flat in sub 60 seconds using R12 equipment as being too helpful myself, it is what it is lol.

Then boredom as well, but that's annoying because MR players still have access to all of their LR / HR hunts, they don't need to join someone elses hunt just to blow something to pieces for the fun of it lol, they could merely host their own.

Sometimes when I get bored I like to join HR hunts with a Defender weapon I'm bad with usually with a Wide Range set and things like the boosters instead of mantles, trying to be helpful without being too helpful, but you can bet some other MR dude will join and wreck the monster with a Spread 3 HBG anyway so I've generally stopped doing that.

It's nice to bring R12 gear to Zorah Magdaros or Lavasioth deco quest though. Making people suffer those for as little time as possible is a noble deed.
I still need large crown jho and I don't have many other options than joining a low level mission, thanks capcom
one time me and a friend were chilling in a public hub, just us in there, doing some special assignments or something idk. and then some random low rank guy joined the hub. out of boredom my friend looked at the quest he was doing (low rank jyura), and he just, like, turned to me and was like "yo wanna ♥♥♥♥ with this guy?"
it was epic. we went in there, my friend managed to kill it before i could even get in the area myself (damn you and your faster loading). and the best part of all? the guy was one of those super rare entities who actually used the in-game mic. for talking. in game. with a mic. it was amazing. whoever you are mr. mic man, wherever you are. may you always kill jyura and his demonspawn brother in 10 seconds flat. god bless
While I don't help out in low rank quests, I do like to go to high rank quests if I need something specific. This is especially the case if I need something from Zorah or Xeno. Those quests don't show up that often and even with strong weapons can be time consuming.
