Why Does BDS (Black Dragon Spear/True Fatalis Spear) suck so much....?

Over the years and franchises, Lances have gotten notably weaker in each and every installment, but honestly, this lance is pretty much the biggest joke in MH history.

Honestly I cant use duals that are 10x weaker, and still out DPS a BDS in the matter of seconds... When are lances going to be "Good", or "Decent" again? Because they're absolute trash, and have been for a while. DDU's (Dual Fatalis Blades) kill a Blos master rank in less than 5 mins, while a BDS (True Fatalis Lance) takes at least 15 mins.

Hopefully in the newer games, Lances can finally start to get some love again.

I don't even use Lance too often, like 6-7 hunts in Iceborne with Lance lol.

Lance is decent, like any weapon can be when you know how to play it, Dual Blades are stronger?, sure, so is HBG, does that mean that Lance can't do decent DPS?, nope.

How many HBGs do you see in Fatalis?, or Alatreon even?, you will find a sticky spammer horribly dying here and there in Fatalis or a madlad with Piercing on Alatreon, but they are just rare.

Yet HBG is the strongest weapon in the game.

Just because Lance isn't popular doesn't mean it's bad. SnS isn't popular and it's literally the second strongest melee weapon.

Sure, Lance isn't too strong but it can definitively get good times, even in Alatreon and Behemoth.

That's a stupid question, since every monster that requires a party is taken down by HBG, this is shown by Team Darkside time and time again, any random monkey can use a HBG.

Hell even long Sword is stronger than most weapons. Your point is moot, and it is not effective on the DPS Checks at all, which is why NO ONE uses them.

Ah yes the typical "any monkey can use HBG", yet when people like you try to use an HBG without a shield cart to a Pukei Pukei.

Hame runs exists since HBG exists. They take a lot of preparation to be achieved.

Longsword in terms of DPS is a mid-tier, almost high-tier, just like CB and Glaive.

Not useful for the DPS Check?, ah?, use a bloody elemental Lance, that's it. How's that hard?, Lance has low motion values, therefore is more than decent at doing elemental damage.

This is either a bait post or a severe case of "mad because bad".

It sort of isn't though, weirdly. Most Lance attacks have 0.7x-0.8x Elemental multipliers, compared to say the 1x on most of LS's attacks (a weapon with a similar pace, and usually the same amount of base element).

Having said that, it's still more than enough to comfortably meet checks if you build appropriately and play decently.

So I subscribed for entertainment and yes, im enjoying it.
I've used Lance for a couple hunts in HR when I was bored, one of the best weapon that was able to defeat monsters in the same amount of time (5-8 min) I have when using LS, which I mostly hunted Toaster or Fish Face (Teostra and Vaal)

I can solo a Diablos in about 5 mins with lance, maybe less with Fatalis lance.

you had seen all the time lance dudes at the release of behemoth, it was a pretty decent tank but lance is so boring, you can just poke, gl can at least do more combos

I'm sorry but why is it that people who do not main lance always rush to defend it, when they do not have any personal experience? After 800~ hunts I dropped it, only went back for a handful of iceborne hunts and I saw no real improvement.

I expected Lance to be a bit higher, but still though, it hits pretty fast. In the video I posted above of an Alatreon run OP can see how fast can you reach the DPS check with Lance using Kjarr King on Alatreon.

It's still faster than many other weapons.
