Otherwise, the weapon has relatively generous white sharpness bar.
But if you have limited resources, I recommend you to choose Shatterblade .
For awakening , there are multiple way to approach this . I will state 4 styles but note that dps difference is very minimal .
I.
Most popular one is
- Sharpness V
- Sharpness V
- Attack VI
- Attack V
- Attack V
This unlock purple 20 . Very similar to Lightbreak LS stat . You need Teo MT to effectively use this .
Which one is better ? Well safishatter blade with this awakening have
- abit more raw ( just a bit )
- 5% more affinity ,
- less blast value ,
- sharpness can be upgraded further with handicraft skill although there is no point .
Meanwhile Lightbreak LS have
- abit less raw ,
- 5 % less affinity ,
- more blast value ,
- sharpness cannot be upgraded with handicraft skill .
- BUT dealbreaker is additional lvl 3 slot . This allow you to add Phoenix jewel . Which is + 12 true raw when you recovered from blight . Light break LS can deal around 1% more damage if you have high Coalescence uptime . But note that not all monsters have high coal uptime .
In conclusion , they are very equal .
II.
Another one is all Attack . This have very similar EFR compared to above but 40 white instead of 20 purple . MT is recommended for this one but not strictly necessary if you are willing to run protective polish + Hard Enduring Jewel and have loads of Fin+ . But uncomfy is real without MT especially if u r fighting monsters that never leave from area . Example event quest tempered Ruiner , Shara . Difference between white and purple is not much in dps wise . But bouncing and grey damage number will happen with white sharpness for some monsters .
III.
Next one is Sharpness V + All attack . This one deal abit less damage than above two builds but comes with 80 hits of white . Completely ignoring MT , PP . Allowing you to run more flexible armors pieces . So overall dps will be the same or low depending on your armor choices .
IV.
Last one is Teostra Technique + All Attack . This one become popular with introduction of Frostfang Barioth since this build allow you to run MT + Agitator secret + Punishing Draw in one build . Punishing Draw of Iai Slashes have KO value 50 . 100 if both hits lands . This is value is devastating especially matchup against monster like Kirin . Giving you to extra opening for ur burst damage move , Spirit Helm Breaker .
Note : These are ideas before Fatalis . Fatalis meta totally wiped out all things and these kinda become progression set at this point .
Doesn't matter if it's longsword or hammer or whatever, if it's melee you want Shatter.
If I recall correctly the only other one that was ever really used was the Dream greatsword because a sleep proc was a free TCS.
Also you should know that when you go ti claim your rewards you are guaranteed that 1 weapon of the type you have equipped when you claim it will be in the list to pick for. So if you're chasing a longsword equip one before you go to claim rewards.
