Change appearance

I realised I can fully change my appearance in the select saved game screen. However, I am concerned about wether this is a one-time change or not. Has anyone used this feature before and knows this aspect?

Yeah, it is a one-time change. You need vouchers which cost real money but you can get 1 free here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/770977/Monster_Hunter_World__Free_Character_Edit_Voucher/

What I want to know is if you can preview it without using up your voucher.

Also FYI you can change your hairstyle for free, without using the voucher.

I think that you can also change some aspects of your appearance at your room, such as facial decorations (face paints, scars) as well as hairstyle.

You can cancel your edit and it won't eat your voucher. I've entered the character customization plenty of times by mistake and I just exited out without saving any changes so my voucher is still there.

Haircuts, hair colours, face extravagances (like rouge, mascara, and other complecated stuff) can be changed in your room any time.

Skin colours, sex (gender), face details (e.g. nose) can be changed using vouchers which are not free.
(Note that you have one free voucher and one obtainable in your room as an extra. Also note that these free vouchers apply to your account, not each character on the account.)

Yes, you can. It is used only when you hit 'finish' button. You can try to alter you character, don't like it and cancel it.
